Mweb Vs Afrihost ADSL Uncapped bundle Price Vs Performance(Only 4MB & 10 MB)

Ok im convinced :) , I will be moving over to afrihost soon. My mweb is good but the pricing of afrihost for the same quality but faster speed is just too good. Afrihost 10mbps bundle, see you soon !

Are there any throttling / shaping happening on news items via IS?

Still interested in pings to Xbox Live ( I have a fake U.K. account and don't know if that will make a difference )

Currently on WebAfrica 4mb uncapped with line rental, but AfriHost's pricing is very appealing.

I left WA due to the throttling on the line after reaching 3.165gb in a 6 hour period. I only went over the 7 day threshold in my notice month because i didnt care about it after that.... I am now on the Afrihost all inclusive 10mbps for R2 cheaper and i do 17gb in the morning from midnight to 6 where on WA if i managed 8gb, that was lucky...

when using local news servers, i just use news.is.co.za. seems to work fine for me.
 
Thanks for the inputs,but no MWEB 10MB user feedback.I was waiting to hear from someone using 10 mbps bundle regarding the total bandwidth usage shaping etc..I read another thread about MWEB termination warning for downloading TOO MUCH around +/- 600 GB.If that's the expectation from MWEB ,we can say compare MWEB pricing 899/400GB with Afrihost's 697/250GB i.e 2.24 rand/Gb(incl line) VS 2.78rand/gb
But I think when it comes to 10 mb pricing is much different Afrihost 1.99rand/Gb(Incl line) but MWEb?????????????
 
You'll get more than 400GB on Afrihost 10mb.
 
I imagine it would be over 1tb on Mweb. By my question is now this...

Unless you are downloading full BR disks, how do you plan on using that much data?

What is the point of buying a new hard drive every month?

Very true,but the reason is just to compare these accounts nothing more may be we will use more data for some months but after that it will come down.
It seems if you don't use lots of data switching to Afrihost can save you considerable money with 10 mb bundles,provided Afrihost maintains their standards.:)

A little post back got my afrihost 10MB/uncapped account yesterday,

Did a little test deleted all digital games i have (BF3,Diablo3,MW2,MW3) and let them download to test the speeds Started last night 12 - been running on a constant 897 Kb/s so far so good

Just thought i would share done Some Youtube tests, 720p no lagging what so ever the buffer is always ahead of the video, dont use Torrents or News Hosts, did do some tests though torrents arent to bad but getting seeders was a issue and News items downloaded at full speed

If you require any more tests please let me know

On a side note, quick test download from news 986 KB/s and diablo 3 with 216 ms at same time no lag no issues the way its meant to be!
 
Mweb should seriously reconsider their pricing... Im on the edge of the ship, ready to jump to the afriship- Altair style....
 
I wish Mweb could come to the party :( , Ive had a 10MB line from telkom now for just about a year, and it really needs some loveing :(

I would switch to Afrihost just for the 720p youtube streaming.
