Hi,

I want to use my Nokia N8 (or even my old N95) for cheap(er) international calls over WiFi (or even 3G in a pinch).

I'm not having much joy getting it set up. The Nokia SIP configuration terminology doesn't neatly match up with that on the MWeb general configuration page and all I get from the Nokias are 'Registration failed' with no useful indication of what went wrong.

MWeb offers the following items:
SIP Registrar/ Proxy: sip.mweb.net
STUN server: stun.mweb.net
SIP account: 27871234567 (no that's not really my number)
SIP password: *****

I've managed to get Nimbuzz to work with this configuration, but I'd prefer the built-in VoIP client so I can use hands-free etc.

Any help highly appreciated.
Andries

Maybe have a look here and see whether you have any luck. Can't say that I've set up VoIP on my E51 before, so can't help you there unfortunately.

I had tried this some time ago on my n95.. i cant remember what it was, but there was some trick to it :/ Mweb call centre helped me out.. Try that

Awesome...I got it working with info from the link.

The magic was setting the "Realm" to "sip.mnet.net" and then it works!

Thanks

@fuzzieza
how did you figure out you needed to put the realm at "sip.mnet.net"
or is that a typo?
