I have been a subscriber to mweb for quite a while, and have always recommended their services to people. And have had pretty good service overall, so thank you.
At the end of December I moved into a new house. I am renting and it had a phone line already, so I could just add ADSL. Telkom assured me that it would be max of 5 days so I kept my mweb 4MB uncapped account. 20 Days later(pretty good timing for Telkom :P), our DSL line is active. I logged in with my mweb account at got to this landing page:

Thats great that people can't steal my account! But clicking on the links to goto my account or even trying to goto mweb's main site just takes me back to that. True South African logic there. So I logged in with my cellphone, went to the control panel and tried to add my new phone number. It says I need to add a OTP number so I give it my cell. After trying 5 different cell numbers, all multiple times, I didnt get a single sms. The land line is locked, so I cannot call support. The next day I called mweb and got the guy to add my number. Then I got back from work yesterday and it was locked again!

So then I phone on my cellphone. After 20 minutes waiting, I gave up.

So basically this month, I have payed for an account that I am barely going to be able to use, payed for extra data on my MTN account, and spent a bunch on trying to call them - all to no avail.

So what can I do?

Raaawr :(

Well in hindsight if you knew you were going to move you should have cancelled the adsl so you never got billed for this month. Did you really think telkom would stick to 5 days?

May i ask why you are using your cellphone and not the telephone to call them? Free minutes or what?

The mweb guys should be around to sort you out. Perhaps send them a pm

did you verify your adsl line with telkom app?
Yes

Yes, I know, but I was hoping for the best, either way not cancelling is not the issue here - that was just a lack of foresight :P
As I said in the post, the landline is locked(landlord owns it so doesnt want me using it obviously) so I cannot make calls from it besides telkoms 0800dsldsl which worked.

Hi roguemat

Thank you for the kind words and for recommending us to people, as we value you as a client.

I understand your frustration at being locked out. Please PM me your MWEB account details so that I can investigate further into your query.

So it is the landlords phone (on his account) and he didn't mind that you added on DSL ???

Mweb always let me downgrade my 4MB uncapped to email only without notice and bill me pro-rata. That way, when your line is up and running, it takes one phone call to upgrade back to 4MB uncapped and you don't get billed for an unused service.

You SHOULD have removed your old number from your ADSL account when you moved. Can't blame MWEB for making things secure for you, then fault them when the very security that keeps you safe works against you.

Hi roguemat

I believe one of our technicians contacted you and understand that the landing page query has been resolved.

I trust the resolution was satisfactory.

Yes, all is good in the world again :)
Thanks very much to Mweb and specifically Darwin!

Turns out that it was caused by a telkom skrew up where in the course of the few hours between lunch and afternoon yesterday the home phone line number actually changed...My mind is blown.
