Hello chaps,

I just want to know if anyone has signed up for Mweb's discounted AVG Pro package, seems to be a really good deal. I've used MSE & Avast recently, just like some feedback on AVG Pro.

Thank you in advance :).

Cheers

AVG went down after number 8, I have heard Avast is better then AVG, personally I use Eset, just brought 2 licenses for R630

Mweb charges R 15 per month = R 180 per year for AVG Pro

I wouldn't buy it... get and use MSE aka Microsoft Security Essentials.

I didn't like their privacy T&Cs, I've used MSE for almost a year

Some virus DB as the free version. They both suck imo.

Avast is better...but its a bit heavy on the system. Using MSE atm.

MSE>AVG Even though AVG has more features, MSE goes the job better. For a added bonus use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware in conjunction with MSE.

For a bought solution I would recommend Eset Smart Security. Bitdefender would be my second recommendation.

Microsoft Security Essentials... it's Free.

agreed. agv was good rather get nod if you have to pay for something, but no contest with mse with something that doesn't run your pc down.

then again go trend if you want something *erm* hogging...

Cryptic you never on MSN anymore? If you buy AVG I will come and slap you. Avast and MSE good enough

Microsoft would know best how to make an anti-virus for the OS they created....and make sure that it doesn't become a resource hog on your pc.

If you think AVG is difficult to uninstall, try Norton.

Norton [-]Anti[/-] is a Virus

Woop-tee-doo... I was simply telling OP what I put my trust in, can't for the life of me see why anybody would pay for AVG...

For those advocating Microsoft Security Essentials, just be aware that it won't install if your copy of Windows is not 100% 'kosher'....
