Mxit on Touch Screen Phones?

Will mxit work on touch screen phones?
some phones have a stylus and have handwriting recognition software built in or does it not make a difference at all?

Well when I got my Omnia, the previous owner had it installed - i took it off, cos I don't care for Mxit.

Omnia is Stylus orientated mostly - the keyboard layout is kinda crappy - though I do find myself using both hands to type with it.

I don't think handwriting recognition software would be in use with Mxit.
I speak under correction on that one - no personal experience with it.

i use mxit to talk to my wife when we at work but i am worried if i buy a touch screen phone over here i might have a problem with mxit.
 
You'll just be typing a bit slower at 1st.

Iphone has very good on-screen keyboard for fast typing - don't know if it's compatible with Mxit though.

What handset you looking at?

ha ha ha i was looking to get the i 9 or iphone clone but there are others here for under $200. i don't want to get one and get rid of my LG KS 360 and the phone don't wanna work.
 
Ghost02 was selling them if i remember correctly and some websites say its better than the iphone because its cheaper and has better features in otherwords its not locked to the Apple stores.

Yeah does seem cool, I'm just wondering what apps there are available for it.

yip i was on that site earlier today and i reckon because of the Java 2.0 we should be able to pipm it out for sure.

Like I said - I don't know anything about it - so can't comment.

For ZAR 1000.00, it looks good.
I'd like it - but it would depend on what 3rd party apps are available for it and how far you could push it.
It seems like it only supports 4GB storage - which is rather low.
I'm using about 4GB of my Omnia's total of 8GB and still have to put more stuff on it.
So for me - a concern would be about how fast it would run if the storage was filled.
Also - need plenty of space for music :p :D

But that's just me - still a good looker for that price :)
 
i saw the mixed reviews on my link but even with those i am sure it is a good phone. like you say its all about the user at the end of the day and what they wanna use the phone for. i would proberly pimp it out to the max to test it and then delete those apps. that i dont need. my LG KS 360 had over 20 games on at any one time and still worked perfectly with songs and a few videos and when i cleaned my phone up to use it as a camera i see i can take over 21000 photos on it and thats with a 1g memory card.

But I reckon there would be plenty :D
 
na cool buddy its all good. i am still tossing and turning the idea in my mind if i should get one i just dont want to be disappointed when i get back to SA and it don't work to delicious.
 
Well maybe try youtube for user reviews of the phone and it's apps.

That should give you some insight hopefully ;)
 
was just watching a chinese one and it showed some inteesing things you can do with the phone but some of the reviews underneath were not to pleasing.

But to answer your question. Yes, Mxit will work on touch screen phones. Had the HTC Touch Diamond and it work perfectly. You type with the on screen keyboard and your stylus. Takes some getting used to.
Just make sure that Mxit supports phones like the i9 before you buy it. Maybe check their website or ask around in the forums on Mxit.
 
I downloaded the Mxit app to my Iphone but has not used it yet, yes its free from the Apps Store.
 
I use mxit on a touchscreen. Granted, it has a keypad too, so I use that, but because mxit uses the phone's input methods, I have the option of using the on-screen keyboard or handwriting recognition with the stylus. So you're limited by how fast you are.
