My graphics card driver keeps uninstalling itself

Had the same issue with a card or two in the past

Try this

Install your drivers as per normal, then install MSi afterburner and force the all clocks and voltages to the absolute minimum, lock them there, then try running a basic or old game

See if it survives, I had the same kind of issues in the past when the cards were cooked in some way, they wouldn't handle load or high clocks.

EDIT: Can also use AMD Adrenalin settings to force clocks and power to minimums

I have never had this issue with AMD or Nvidia GPUs, but on a laptop with Windows 11, it keeps on rolling back, by updating, my GPU driver. No method available is able to prevent this driver update. Funny thing is, though drivers should be optional, the update is through the normal release channel. Ugh. It wasn’t like this with Windows 10 installed. Not a big issue, but things like this drive me nuts.

Then on another device with the same GPU driver suite, it behaves like I want it to behave. How about that? It is almost like Windows gets to decide that it wants to be malware.

Ok, so I did DDU. Got the latest drivers from the site.

Try to boot Serious Sam 4, and the game loads, I go to load game, loads game, press Continue, then get black-screened or the computer freezes up.

After the recent attempt, the drivers were uninstalled again. I ****ing got this:

I followed the instructions on the MS link. Now to reinstall drivers (AGAIN).

From my own experience, DDU usually remedies this issue. You can always try to puzzle Windows by installing a Amernime driver,

and then see how Windows behaves. Then you can DDU the Anermine driver, and try again with AMD's latest driver.

Ok, so now it seems the drivers are staying on but Serious Sam 4 is giving me weird "Not enough memory errors' after playing for 4 mins, I think the game specifically might be full of **** all of a sudden.

Sounds like memory issues, temperatures good?

Have you ask him why does he keep doing this. Communication is a two way street. Maybe he does not like your motherboard. Some family counselling might help.

Sorry, I know the frustrations of trouble shooting and you did everything right and still does not work. I thought you might need a laugh.

He's imploding my studio, and this will not stand!!!!

Anyway, I figured out Serious Sam 4 and turned down settings a bit from low to lowest to see if it helps. It did.

So hopefully things keep working tomorrow...

I also had the problem of Microsoft Updates wiping out my AMD Adrenalin & replacing it with a default AMD display driver!!
This works for me..
I downloaded wushowhide.cab from https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/wushowhide.html
It is a Microsoft product, but it would not download from them.
Then I installed AMD Adrenalin, then I ran wushowhide (double click)
It told me that there was an AMD driver update outstanding.
Then I told it to 'hide' the AMD driver.
Problem solved.. no more Windows Updates replacing AMD Adrenalin.

Just went off again 5 mins ago, reinstalling drivers and I'm going to clean out my PC, maybe it's some dust ****ing around with my PC again...
