My i5promo bill

200(sim fee)+353.06(7july-31july)+0.17(2.4MB used at 11:55pm on the 31st i.e. when the 10GB ran out)=R553.23
So it's R200 more than it should be, but I guess they will put it right soon.

Detailled Billing?
Just how many calls did you make???

I5promo sims cannot make any calls. It's all internet connections, some as small as 230 bytes. The largest line entry is 22 MB (around 2 minutes flat out).

Do you get notified / capped when your bandwidth is used up?

Or do you just move onto out of bundle pricing and carry on as usual?

I think you get capped. They redirect all traffic to a site saying you are capped and can buy more bandwidth. I got to that page 0:05am on the 1st of August, even after a balance enquiry confirmed that the new bundles were loaded. It sounds like the capping and billing systems are spread over multiple computers that are not a always synchronized.
The 17c data charge is most likely due to the same mess. I can't bother to complain to them and there is a reasonable chance that they will fix it soon.

While you are browsing and you have reached your data limit, you will get an “Out of Bundle” notice on your browser.

From here you will have two options (for Internet 5 Promo):
1. Choose to surf out of Bundle rates (You will be charged R 0.30 per MB)
2. Purchase a Once-Off Internet Bundle from your credit limit.

I also got my 8ta bill. 18 pages long, 14 pages is call detail, but doesn't mean anything to me!

The bill is R200 more than what I expected. R200(sim fee)+R393.58(1july-31july)=R591.58 and the 10gb midnight wasn't activated for the month of July. The lady at the call centre only says that it is for pro rate billing (she can't say for what) and then the monthly subscription fee of R199.00.

I could be wrong but wasn't it supposed to be R200(sim fee)+R199(subscription fee for the first month)=R399 or am I missing something?

bill would most proberbly be pro rata for july, R199 for august and r200 sim connection fee.

If it is for July and August then yes I agree the bill is correct. It was just that the person in the call centre said the bill is for July only.

The 8ta rep might be able to clear this for us.

I signed up on the 27th of June and have not had a bill or money go off my account. Today I phoned 081 183 and asked when payment would go off, they emailed me a statement (41 pages long) there is a amount of R 418.90 in 30 Days and Current is R 199.00, they checked my banking details and they are all correct but some how it all does not work. They logged my call and gave me a REF, let wait and see how long before I get cut off or money goes off my account.

How do I find out how much my credit limit is? No one told me anything about that in the Fourways Crossing store.

Can the 8ta rep please provide some input regarding these billing issues.

For Internet 5 we do charge and allocate the data pro rata.
The monthly charge for Internet 5 Promo is R 199.00
The once off SIM connection is R 200.00
3 Days Pro rata = R 199 *3/30 = R 19.90
So your total bill (for June and July) is R 199.00 + R 200.00 + R 19.90 = R 418.90
We would like to follow up on why it has not gone off your bank account, so please email [email protected] with your case number, contact number and ID number.
Thank you

Hi there

I'm also desperate for answers. I took out the I5 Promo at the end of July. I wasn't billed till today (1st September). My bill came to R878.

I understand there’d be a R200 activation fee, and probably some small pro-rata amount for the remainder of July. But I haven’t been billed till today! And it surely can’t have come to R878?

I sincerely doubt I’ve exceeded my 10 gig cap so cannot understand where this amount came from?
