Reset everything including router, will not connect, now I see I might need to downgrade firmware, not impressed.

Heard it might be glare on the screen and I must now print the QR code onto white paper.
Seriously

Unchecked box WP 2 now it connects. Still using wpa2 security

Have had it at various places over the last few nights and I can't complain. Unbox was easy / Setup was easy / RTSP was easy (just testing to VLC)

Dr Z also likes it :

Will point it out into the garden tonight to test the IR

Good stuff, we're bringing in some more. They sold out like hot cakes!

I like this little Sonoff Camera (more videos in the post) - I am going to find my Ubiquiti 2MP camera which costs 10 times more than this and show you the night vision on the Sonoff is pretty much the same quality.

Internal only or can it be mounted outside? Have you tried exposing as an RTSP stream and then plugging in to something like Zoneminder?

Yea, it comes with external mounting plate - but the plastic is cheap ABS I don't think it will withstand elements and it is not waterproof, the rain will the circuit board which is exposed.

I run it via node-red, it worked on Blue iris and Luxriot and plain old VLC so the RTSP feed is nice.

Bought 2 for home, tested RTSP at work on the Zoneminder server (Would recommend), view is better than em Foscams at double the price. <-- It might be bias, but for me it looked a lot sharper esp the night cam.

Also works great with Home Assistant.

Do we know what protocol the sonoff uses for PTZ?

Do not know myself but I am sure if you scratch in AlexxIT's code on githib you might find a hint?

I'm sitting with another dalema, I want to give my cameras static IP address for Home assistant without flasing them as my HUAWEI B315s don't have an option to bind IP's. Only solution I found so far is to install another Pi, might be an option to make it a Pi-hole as well, but thats for later.

For those concerned about security: My IoT is sitting on its own Huawei with Rain R250 sim. My home network is on Telkom capped and behind a T-Link TL-R470T that balance to the rain sim during off peak hours.

If you want that kind of camera then rather just het the 2MP UNV cameras locally from eurobyte.

They've about R250 each and the pictures quality is very good better than any other 2MP you'll find.

I've got a Pro Vision DVR. Do you know this this will work with that?

Should work -- Uniview has their own NVR so some features like smart tracking, facial recognition, etc won't work, but basic video feed will work.

Dam, so I bought a Hikvision cam 2mp, and it turns out that Hik only works on Hik DVR. Unlucky.

I have several Hikvision cams and they work fine with my no name DVR .
What are you trying to record on and what model cams ?
