My Windows 10 experience

Morning

I cant say it is faster.
I have not seen the start button yet. Might be overlooking something.
Slight changes to win8.1. It seems they are hiding some of the futures. (like windows update)
By searching you are able to find it.
If you don't like something about your system just change it. Start10 can provide a Windows 7 start menu in Windows 10 if that's what you want.

The whole fiasco about the Win8 was there was no start menu.
The hype from Microsoft was with win10 they brought it back? Or I'm missing something or miss read?

I used to use Stardock back in OS2 day's. Great company.

Windows 10 has a start menu, and quite a good one. If you don't have a start button then your installation is faulty and you should do a clean install.

This is what I see when a click on the Start button

and this is what I see when I click the "All Apps" button

so I'm really confused as to why you're not seeing the same

Currently my windows 10 experience consists of a restart every 2 minutes, no matter what I do. It might be a driver issues, but I cannot get abything updated in time before windows decides to restart

The **** has started.

Dropbox won't start startup - have to run manually as admin (even though I am in an admin profile). It requires a yes in the UAC window. I can turn UAC off. But this wasn't an issue in Win7.

USB mouse f'ed from yesterday. In the device manager it appears and disappears constantly. Tried uninstalling yesterdays's win update, but still not working.

Lenovo 14" Thinkpad Edge.

Edit: Problem with the mouse - not windows :o.

Which Windows, Enterprise, and did you do an upgrade?

We had to manually update Dropbox on enterprise to work on startup, with Windows 8/8.1 we added it is a task to run on startup. My personal computer which was on Windows 8.1 Pro also had this issue, now gone with Windows 10 Pro.

...

I had to downgrade my Multimedia pc back to Windows 8.1 Pro to support my Compro driver.

Was on Win7 pro (now 10 pro) and the free version of Dropbox. Uninstaller for Dropbox doesn't work for Win10. I'll have to use a third party app to remove, and then re-install. It worked fine the first few days on Win10...

Edit: Re-installed - same issue :(.

I can't create a bridged network from Virtual Box between Win 8.1 and Win 10 base install. :(
I created a NAT connection and still can't see my shared folder.
Any ideas?

If you did a straight upgrade from Windows 7, its possible that the app manifest list hasn't been updated properly. You can try uninstalling Dropbox, repairing any broken or missing registry keys with Ccleaner, and then reinstalling Dropbox again.

I had some weird issues with Firefox, Chrome, GIMP, but these were all related to the upgrade process and some quirks with the window manager. Reinstalling them fixed my problems.

The network stack in Windows 10 is slightly different, Virtual Box may need to have an update done to fix whatever issue its having. In the meantime, create a virtual network adapter and interface with your VMs that way for now.

For anyone having issues in general with Windows 10 after the upgrade, backup all your stuff, make sure Windows is activated, then perform a clean install. If you're not up to downloading the ISO, perform a reset through Settings > Update and Security > Recovery > Reset this PC > Choose "Keep nothing" when you get the prompt.

Loving Windows 10 so far.

Glad the start button is back. Don't get the big fuss everyone is making about the start button. Click Start -> All Apps and all your programs are there. Same as previous iterations of the old OS.

I missed the start button when going from Win 7 to 8. Then got used to not using it and continued to 8.1.
Since then I got annoyed by having a start button (8.1 and now 10). Winkey + Q does the job way better.

Anyway, I upped my dev/gaming PC to Win 10 yesterday. Without fiddling with settings I noticed an average FPS increase of 10 to 15 FPS in ARK. Can this be so - or just placebo? Using a GTX970.
