I upgraded my Lenovo Y50 without any serious issues. I opted to keep all my Settings, Files and Apps as it's too time-consuming to reinstall all the software I use on a daily basis and set everything up again the way I like it. Everything worked as it did before the upgrade except for Bluetooth, re-installing the Lenovo Bluetooth drivers fixed the broken Bluetooth. Lots of people had issues with display drivers, thankfully I had none of those.
Thinking back three years ago when I upgraded my Toshiba laptop to Windows 8, it was a big disaster. Almost all the drivers had to be re-installed or upgraded with newer versions. In the end I had to do a clean install to get everything working again.
I did my Lenovo Thinkpad Edge last night.
First issue was the system partition being too small - easily fixed with Minitool Partition Wizard.
Everything went okay after that from the USB flash install I created with the Media Creation Tool.
2 issues I had in Office 2010 today:
- Excel was opening with Book2 instead of Book1. Not a major issue, but fixed by turning off a report designer add-in.
- Outlook refused to sent out email, even though the test emails went through when testing the settings. From admin cmd, sfc /scannow, fixed the problem.
Hopefully that might help anyone else with the same issues.
Also kept all settings, files, apps. Bluetooth working fine without any changes required. The fingerprint log-in came back up as an option after the first reboot from inside Win10.
