My Xbox 360 broke :(

Truly insightful. Maybe Sony or Nintendo will give you a job and a bizillion ZIM$ for being just such a swell thoughtful guy!

If I'm not mistaken the handling fee only applies to consoles that were purchased outside of South Africa. MiDigital have gone out of their way to accommodate early adopters (people that bought before the local South African launch) and managed to get hold of some UK replacement consoles which they keep stock of now to swap out faulty UK and Australian consoles. They are not required by Microsoft to do so as its up to the customer to actually ship their console back to the country of purchase for repairs.

In my opinion its a small price to pay to be an early adopter. However I was assured that I wouldn't be required to pay another handling fee if my replacement console died.
 
and there i was thinking this would never happen to me :o
my xbox also went RRoD on me. so what now? i dont have the slip or any way to prove the purchase. cant even remember where it was bought :o (i bought it 2nd hand ;))
please help me, i'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms :(
 
You're in JHB so no worries.

Grab the serial number off the back, phone Microsoft - SA number is on xbox.com/en-ZA, get your reference number. Call Mi digital www.midigital.co.za, tell them you want to swap out, you bought it second hand so you'll have to take it directly to them.
