MyBB BF3 Clan

Is it better to just stick with one class and get all the upgrades?

We will need one room as a shoot the ***** area and plan. So it will probably have to be:
Chill room
A
B
C

I think you can still have 4 rooms as well as the main channel. That should be used as common and rooms for squads.

I agree. last night was a lot of fun... again.

If I can make a suggestion though: I'm not sure if we can put like a short description on the platoon page. If we can, can we make it something like:
"myBB: When we join, even WAGE servers explode..." :D

Done :) I'll only change it if someone can be that comment

Ok folks, a little bit of seriousness.

Worf and I were talking the other day regarding squads and the platoons. As most folks are starting to feel, squad combat is important and extrememly effective if done properly. To that end, we need to look for folks who are can help translate a teams goals and objectives on a squad level, basically a squad leader. This becomes important in clan play as it helps if the squad commanders are able to concentrate on objectives and the squad functions as a unit to achieve them. Squad leadership has nothing to do with individual skill but far more with the ability to co-ordinate and direct the squad. Commmand is not a one way street and the most effective squads are those who can trust in a leader.

Over the next while as we play together these people should naturaly come forward in the communications. Don't be shy to speak up on ts regarading your squad and to members in it, letting each other know what is happening in and around you is key. Feel out your teamies, who do you enjoy and work together well with in a squad, who naturally compliments each other. Think of all these things and once we've played for a while together and before a tourney or league, we can finilise a more formal role. Keep in mind the whole idea is to have fun so its not so much a leader as electing a person with the best mouth and keeps the squad together when the sh** hits :p

Squad composition and skill learning: A couple folks will ask this question, general or specialist. It is up to you, find the role tha makes you feel the most comfortable and don't be afraid to switch. I do recomend that a person gains at least the primary tools in each skill set ( repair tools , defribs etc ) so if needed the squad can switch as needed. Generally squad combat is far mor effective with a mix of roles ( assualt, support, engineer ). Recons are a tricky story because by nature they are not squadies however don't knock the idea of a good recon. In a clannie it may be better to have a recon squad that spots around a large map and helps direct other squads towards targets. Or a recon that runs point for a squad but not neccesarily longe range more short range equipped.

All these mechanincs we will figure out together as we go. Get on TS, join the rage :D and have fun!

Platoon motto ideas wanted :p

Anyone got crash issues? I play 2 games, then the game crash. 2 games - crash.

There are a few people that have showed some good leadership qualities last night :) I am much more of a team player myself, and don't mind following orders.

I agree, we'll see how it develops. Also got to get used to more people again on TS.

I also think we should all be able to play at least another kit. Some maps are more engi heavy than others. You need to be slightly adaptable I feel. Also pilots, we need people that can stay in the air without crashing. Helis and prob jets.

Man I sucked balls last night.

Any tips I could use to get better?

Felt like I was running around forever just to get shot/knifed in the back.

Hey Mike7, what's your IGN? Like Sundstromenator says, it helps if you have a squad of guys to tag along with in the beginning. Makes the whole game experience more forgiving because you have someone who can revive you and on whom you can spawn.

Can't wait to get my new rig up and going. Got my self the I5-2500k for the same price as the i5-2500. must now save for a decent graphics card to replace my 5770 with.:D

GORY51!!!!

You killed me a million times last night you **** :p

Had some really fun games last night, thanks dudes :)

And we managed to get a BMP stuck on top of a car :p

Yeah, you came and joined us at like 22:30. After a while you will recognise people's voices
Hahaha! Yeah that was my tank. Got a bit reckless and tried to ramp the stairs. Massive fail.
The round before that was intensely epic. When the whole squad was in the BMP cruising round to flags. Loved the dynamic - get near the flag, infantry unloads and then moves up with the bmp covering. Super effective. We should definately try that again.

Speaking about squad leading I would like to be considered to lead a squad. Not from an egotistical standpoint - just that I've had some experience squadleading in arma and really enjoy that side of things. Leadership to me is about facilitating the strengths of the squad and kind of sheparding that towards a common goal. I dont believe in dictatorial leadership - humble yet assertive leadership is my game - calling on the wisdom of the group as much as possible but making sure that the outcome is effective and goal orientated. Anyway - Im sure some guys can attest to this. Saying all that - If others are more suitable I have no problem following either. As long as we kick ass and take names I'll follow to grave. Respawn after respawn =p .

Also - if we have multiple squads it could be worthwile structuring them into infantry/ mechanized and logistics/ support. Had a bit of a taste of multiple squads working together with vehicles and infantry and we dominated. Transport alone is something that can be a game changer - getting a squad behind enemy lines and then supporting/ reinforcing them thorughout their op. Dig it! getting excited just thinking about it.

+1. You're a good squad leader and I will be happy to follow.

Easy folks, easy, it's still early days, like I said, those who want can step up in game and when we register for tourney/league we make more official designations but the nice thing about the squads and being so small is that everyone at some point should lead a squad .... because teamies die and those critical seconds of revive and re-adjust are crucial.

Oh thats another thing by the way folks. Keep in mind that in a squad you are a mobile spawn point so if you are the last guy standing and being hunted, go to ground and have your squad re-formup and take them out together.
