MyBB guide to quitting smoking

Stopped smoking and now I'm vaping... Feel a lot healthier though, been a few months with no ciggies.

Went from 60+ per day Camels to zero overnight. Have not smoked for eight years now and wonder why I ever did. 50 years back advertising for cigarettes and smoking made it all seem so easy and good. At the equivalent of 17 cents per pack it was not too expensive either.

11 days in, cold turkey. So far reasonably manageable until I have a few drinks and the misery kicks in. Oh well, no beers for a while it will have to be :o

I just kept telling myself that the guy I'm watching having a smoke, I bet he also wants to quit.

So stick to it. There comes a time when you don't think about it constantly, for me now it's a fleeting thought every other day :)

On 21st December 7.21 pm it will be 3 years stopped for me.

Thanks Spizz, and well done to you!

There has been a lot of mention of Allen Carr's method in this thread, but I dont remember seeing any links to this video, unless perhaps I missed it.

Anyway I think anyone quitting smoking should give it a watch!

Hah, my 3rd anniversary was 21 September.

Once you stop smoking and your body becomes strong & healthy again, you will despise smoking with a passion.

And love the power your body oozes when you are running, or doing any other sport.

116 days without smoking, how is everyone else doing?

Did not smoke a cigarette until October 2013 for a personal best of 18 months. Managed to quit again in June so 5 months off again.

Out of interest, how did you end up starting again after 18 months?

Thanks for posting the video. It seems to have worked for me. 3 days and no real cravings at all.

Today is my 318th day of being off cigarettes. Early January will be 1 year for me. This is the longest I've ever lasted. My previous best was about 5-6 months. I feel confident that I'll never touch tobacco again in my life. Anyway, enough about me, good luck to all of you trying to quit. It's a tough one, but doable.

Tomorrow will be 1 week. I'm happy to say that this time around it's been relatively easy.
Haven't been out drinking yet, I suppose that would be the first test.

Smoked 22 years. Gave up 5 years ago.

Can't image smoking again. In fact I dislike second hand smoke and try avoid it.
