The N95 8GB was the most stable N-series...

Agreed - the N96 is a failure - but perhaps it is just clever marketing for people to want the N97 even more

lol @ everyone getting so hyped up. The one thing I love is that in the space of a year, phones have completely transformed.

Think back to when these were released:
Ericsson's T-series pocket sized phones
Nokia's first camera phone
The Nokia 7110 with WAP
First colour screen phones

This year basically has the excitement of ALL these events rolled into one!

My personal feeling is that feature wise, phones are going to get superbly packed within the next two years and well, ALL these phones that have been released (iPhone, Omnia, 8MP camera phones, proper GPS on phones, E71, N97, the innovations by LG and Samsung) have pushed the boundaries of what is possible with a phone. I mean, remember how happy we all were with those Nokia 6110's back in the day. Yet see what phones have indeed become.

It's exciting and it's moving us closer to proper business and pleasure wherever, whenever .. and that's bloody brilliant.

I agree. What can be better than a good all rounder???

Business, Multimedia, everything in one mobile device. According to the specifications the N97 is probably the best all rounder for the near future.

Another great example is the SE Xperia X1.

Till you work with it (the X1, that is). It's not a nice, smooth experience, very 'jerky', the GUI is. Same with the latest HTC phones.

I've recently been using a number of touch screen phones, the iPhone, X1, HTC Touch Pro, Omnia and the Storm.

And BY FAR, the iPhone has the most responsive touch screen, followed by the Storm.

Now that Nokia copied the HTC form-factor, let's hope they also copied the iPhone's touch screen properly.

Hopefully, a sticky GUI is going to cause more frustration than anything else.

I've been using a BlackBerry Bold for the last few days and do miss the iPhone's touch screen a lot.

Was just asking because sometimes the cellphone companies brand the phones with software that's not exactly the same as the unbranded software.

I remember with my N95 from MTN. It didn't have all the software on as the Unbranded phones.

I agree, im loving the iPhone
The iPhone use a bio (something) screen that makes it so responsive and only to the Human touch, thats why it you try to use a stylis on the iPhone it doesnt work...
So far so good, who cares about bluetooth or MMS lol!!
The iPhones still the coolest gadget on the market.
