Closing this case made me happy, I've been watching it and know some of the involved people in Switzerland. Good on Joachim Werner Schoss (the Swiss oke) for nailing Jacob Modise, that swine, stupid stupid South African, for managing the RAF that is completely corrupt and useless. Not to mention the pathetic justice system (or actually, lack thereof) that followed. I think Switzerland should NAIL South Africa and all its corrupt practices! :eek:

OT: seems skinner is now changing tack to try and get into the good books of the forumites again.

This is old news. Was covered in Noseweek a good several months ago...
 
God forbid Bill Gates had an accident here. SA would be broke. :D

How can it be old news and covered elsewhere months ago, if the case was closed last week? :confused:

...and the record-breaking personal injury settlement - which could extend into billions of Rand - that was concluded last week in Switzerland.

Stop trying to look for excuses to get me nailed. Rather nail the RAF like this guy :D
 
The RAF should have a maximum payout amount (I say about R300 000 per annum per individual). Remember that we fund it by our petrol price.
 
I say abolish the RAF and require everyone to have private insurance. It'll probably work out cheaper.
 
As tragic as the incident was, the morality of Schoss is in question.
His action will do more damage to the RAF than any corruption ever did or will, and deny many thousands of victims now in dire need of compensation due to lack of funds.
The man was a multi millionaire already, the plunder continues
The Swiss seem to loose morality in the face of money, remember the holocaust.

1) The Swiss had nothing to do with the Holocast.
2) One of the basis of his settlement with the RAF is the fact that the police did a horrible job of investigation into the driver, after the accident. Hopefully this will shock someone into doing a better job. Then people will drive more careful in future (hopefully).
3) The RAF is corrupt to begin with anyway.

1 They colluded with the Nazi's, fact, they also used Nazi forced labor, fact, they hoarded Nazi gold, fact. They still do. Compensation has even been paid to stay off further investigations.

2 May be so, it will shock the needy more, take on the minister, he was after a handout.

3 Again, explain.
 
You all would do well to read the said article in the noseweek about this matter. There's a lot more to this story than what is being presented here

The Swiss kept Jewish money stolen by Germany AND even kept funds of holocaust victims who deposited them there directly. Swiss also shot down
Allied planes while refusing to do the same to Nazi ones.
