Need help Afrihost

Uhh yeah so about 2 hours ago my connection went dead. Couldnt browse anything. Thouhht it was a Telkom prob but my capped axxess account can get onto the Axxess site so line cant be the prob. Ive got no emails from afrihost about a billing prob so that cant be the prob and im not capped. Sorry for the shoddy post but im not the best at typing with a stylus. Help Gian?
 
Looks like you are the only one having problem with Afrihost at the moment. Mine is fine through out tonight.
 
Hey Rosaudio - Please PM me with your username and I'll get one of our guys to give you a call to troubleshoot and help you out :) I think you've sent it to me before but my PM messages are a bit of a war zone at the moment!

I just worry that you all are posting issues and using the forum as a support mechanism, when I'm sure that Afrihost has their support mechanisms in place.

Fearful more so because there may come a time when Gian is not around at the moment that you need help here and then the "Anti-Afrihost" or "Gian doesn't reply to PM's" threads get going.

It's great that he is a means to an end here, but as a CEO he must be a busy oke and I love the fact that his communicating so openly with us.

Just don't get pissed off when the poor guy doesn't reply at 4am in the morning to a query ;)

Gian ill give you my details or email support tomorrow. Cant do much now. I managed to log into my profile and check it out but it says im capped??. Confusing thing is, it doesnt show me my allocted gigs, used up gigs etc. Theres nothnng there :( The october usage table shows that ive used 0 megabytes although i have used the internet. Anyway ill try sort it out tmrw

I had an issue this morning with my bandwidth not being allocated to me for this month. I filled in the in on-line 24 support form and less than 20 mins I had a reply and shorty after that (10 mins or so) I was sorted!

Afrihost even admitted that they had something wrong on their side! The best customer support I've had in years!

I do agree with you but I expected to get a quicker reply here and im able to see if there are others with the same problem.

Sure you will (at times) my point is (and it's not aimed at you per say) is that someone is going to come along and (and there have been plenty of these threads already looking for support) and then perhaps not get a reply here without having gone through the official support chain.

Then they'll get miffed because of PM's and threads not being replied to.

See it happen here all the time.

In his defense, sometimes this is the only place where you get support.

Tis true.

But in this scenario, judging from the OP, no contact was made with Afrihost's support first.

But like I said, I'm not coming down on the OP.
It's just that it could lead to sour grapes for other users in time.
(Which I hope won't happen) :)

You can't expect to get a response from any company if you never actually contact them. :) Posting on MyBB is great if you're following the progress of a general outage on a network but to try and communicate with a company solely via an independent forum should be a last resort, not first.
 
Tbh I posted here because I havent had a great experience with support responding to earlier issues (dont wanna get into that though). Again I apoligise though
