Need help choosing graphics card.

Thanks for all the info guys... Those benchmarks are cool Glordit.

I'll def go with the 3850... I'm too impatient to wait any longer... LOL

Im looking for a nice agp card but dont have a lot of money. Im using a radeon 9550

I am just going to add to this thread instead of starting a new one since my question is similar.

I currently run a 2.4gh P4 with 1GB Ram, 2 80GB sata hdd and other various things.

Card wise I have one of those crap things Glordit was laughing about, the dreaded 5600Fx with 128MB

Having just bought Airborne without checking spec (I really have to stop doing that) I see I need to upgrade my system again.

The mofo at Incredible Corruption said I have to buy a new PC and then upgrade the card.

Cant see myself forking out R6500 to play airborne, but am open to buying a newer card for around R2000.

Anybody have any suggestions that don't force me to upgrade mobo, cpu and ram at the same time ?

Well i would say any card above R1600 or maybe a less will be bottlenecked by your cpu....

Anyway a decent card for that budget would be to get the ATI 3850..Its available @ Prophecy for R1750

AGP or PCI-e?

AGP look at previouse post :) PCI-e HD3850!! *seems like a popular choice*

Doh thanks guys - I should read the thread better

not everyone has money like you do:sick::D

True...but point is that even Ultra and GTX's are battling to run crysis properly. So unfortunately those cards will suffer. Theres no way in hell my current pathetic card can even attempt to run crysis:(

YES! you can run Crysis! here's how!
1. Get a AMD 790 Mobo
2. Get four [yes four/4] ATI HD 3850/70's [50 are the best IMO :D]
3. Run them in Quad Crossfire

too bad Crysis does not supprt Quad Crossfire :( heck! it does not even support Quad Core!!

and too basd there are'nt many Intel mobo's that suppor CrossFire

anyone can run crysis, it's just a fact of what settings and resolution ;)
