Hi all - so i just downloaded puppy for the p1 laptop (lappie) i mentioned in another thread (thx or all the replys) It is currently running from the cd and it is very slow, i think the cd rom`s read speed is so slow. So my question is how do i install it to the hdd. I think that it will be much faster if its on the hdd, because when you click on something you can hear how the cd rom is going "bedonet" to read it

This is the 1st time that i actually used linux and i must say - i like it - i like it alot.

There is a nice howto here!

Ok i done that, but i still need the cd to boot? does it work like that? If i take the cd out then the laptop doesnt boot. After it boots then i can take the disk out and it still works. Am i missing something?
Also - how do i install something in linux? I tried to play a song and it doesnt want to play i think i need to install codecs.

EDIT: I installed the codecs from the installer, but the songs still wont play

Here r a few more questions
1 - how do i change the colour settings (it looks like its in 256 colour)
2 - Can i install another player like winamp (something similar)
3 - How do you change the mouse pointer (its currently black and really dificult to see, because it moves so fast)

I have searched the net, but cant seem to find clear answers for these and other questions
