Need some advice with ADSL problems

So here's my scenario:
I have a 10mb line, been having it close to 3 years now, and for the most part is been problem free....up until the 2nd June.
It started getting constant disconnections, 4-6 times an hour, with my connection speed changing with every reconnection. Either 4-5mb and then 10mb.
I know it isnt my router as when i finally got a telkom tech to come out to my place, he tested with an telkom router and a telkom account, so isp isnt the problem.
I know it isnt congestion as this happens during the whole day, that includes 2am.

Here are some of the stats i get from the router:

Since telkom cant seem to find the problem, or dont even want to take the time, i thought i would see if the MB community couldnt help me and do their job for them.

Average ping: 289 & 374
Ping to my router is 0 btw.

How sure are you it isn't the Router?

Considering the Telkom tech tested and found there to be nothing wrong?

At the very least borrow another router from someone and confirm the same is happening there.

Going by the fact that it all relates to PPP errors I would strongly suspect the ISP is in fact the question and who the hell is ISPDSL.co.za anyway?

Tried a free Afrihost account?

Then again the line stats changing suggest the exact opposite.

Unfortunately I can't remember my exact issue when I had similar problems, but Telkom eventually ended up pulling in a brand new line.

Have you got analog phones on the line?

Have you tried unplugging them all and then running your Router directly through the wall socket without any POTS filter etc?

Sorry, should have been more specific, when telkom finally came around with their own equipment, he also had the same problems.
He even let them lower my speed to 8mb, but still nothing.
Have a phone connected, but having it disconnected doesnt change anything, still same problem.

Will quickly remove the filter and see what happens.

Okay, after removing the filter, my connection was stable until now.
Replaced the filter with a brand new one i have, still sealed.
Will see how long it lasts now.

But it does make the Telkom "technician" and absolute spastic retard if that is the case.

The problem was/is the unstable SNR values. Have a look at those values.

What are causes?

Faulty line filter --- hopefully that is all that is wrong. ---- How can a line filter go wrongs? Ants, and bug infestation, surge damage, continuous unplugging a plugging of cables, faulty capacitors.

Split legs on the line from your place to the exchange --- increases cross talk ---- cable load dependent.
Intermittent connection/dry joint at one of the street box/DBs the cable to your place routes through.

Router intermittent failure is another cause. Ultimately, it is the router that measure the SNR values, which it then sends back to the Telkom equipment, which then could be suing this to start "fiddling" with your line rate, in an attempt to give you a more stable connection. So yes it could be a router. Now a short term test by a Telkom technician over a few minutes is NOT good enough to eliminate the router as a source or claim that it is a router fault.

Weird thing is, every time, after i reset the cable it connects back to full speed....
After that it starts to dc and recon at different speeds.

Unfortunately i dont have another router i can test and see what happens.

Nope, last time a technician was assigned he never showed and just said that the problem is on client side, that was last week Saturday.

My ISP just notified me that i have 34 user disconnect request since this morning.
Every day looks about the same.

They believe that i have a faulty line.
