Got few things i want to know about warior class.

1.Can shield block any none magical ranged attack. And the
Ability to shield block does it proc when you get attacked by range.
Say a hunter does his aimed shot and you use shield block
Will it reduce the dmg?

2. I think Improved Thunder is a must for any tank even prot?

3. About parry it only vs mellee atacks what about mellee atacks charged by
mana like pala seals?Same question does shields block it?

4. And about weapon procs like maces that stun do you have to be arms spec and get the talent to get it or does it have a chance to proc even with no talent in it?

I think you need to remember that any Cast spell is not affected by the armour you have. Thus a mage can crit another mage for 1k, it will crit a warrior with over 4k armour with 1k. Get what I'm saying ;)

Best is to get as close as you can as quick as possible, charge+Hamstring... the rest should be over quickly. But pls know, a warrior is not there to PvP with, yes a MS warrior can be great in a group setup in arena, but they are not made for PvP. PvE they are gods in their own right ;)

Well i know that casters ignore armour but you do get things like hunters i think its just realistic that warior should be able to shield block incoming arrows.maybe not acane shot.

Not gone pvp much with the waroir only when my budie is close disc priest i lvl with.

I am going prot spec and i know as a feral armour was a good thing to have vs rogues and hunters.

But the shield thing got me wondering since i wanna take that in my spec already too improved parry.

but casters gave me a hard time :( .

Hear waroirs can reflect spells with shields how long is the CD on it and does it reflect all dmg spells?

I heard a warior post on eu forums that he can reflect hunter traps ?

@Pitbull, not made for PvP are you serious? Warriors destroy in PvP. They've got Fear, Fear Breaks, CC and they deal enormous amounts of burst damage.

@Boom
1.Shield Block only applies to physical Damage so you cannot block a Spell with it. You need to use Spell Reflect (which is a lvl 70 or 66 Ability)

2. Imp TClap is indeed a must for Prot

3. Parry only applies to melee attacks taken from the front. That includes Special Attacks like Crusader Strike, Sinister Strike, etc.

4. Mace Stun proc requires you to spend the Talent points to get. Same as any classes Talented Weapon skills.

1- Yes you can block any non magic dmg with shield (aim shot is physical dmg)
2- Improved Thunder Clap is required for every prot tank that want to increase thread per sek on max.
3- You cannot pary spells like pala seals - only way is to dodge it.
4- Stunt proc work only if you have improved tallents on mace. Otherwise if you have specific race like human - swords and maces then you have some bonuses like +5 expertise.

True, Might just be that I pvp'd alot on the rogue and playing PvP as a warrior feels to me like a waste of time tbh. :o

I have to add that MS is a killer in PvP ;)

Spell Reflect is a lvl 64 ability and can be the most OP ability sometimes

I'd love to see a warrior reflect a hunter trap, SS or it didn't happen

Thx for all the answers.

I can't say I have ever seen it, but playing a hunter I have never seen a warrior blocked my shots, the dmg is well reduced through their armour but that is it.

Spell reflect is indeed fun, I try and save it for a warlock that likes to fear. Even have a macro that switch to my shield and one hand just for this :D

Hmm ty for the link Boomrooker,

It appears Spell Reflect does work against traps...

Odd tho, never had a warrior once reflect my trap in the 1.5 yrs ive played TBC

I had my traps resisted alot. But never knew you could reflect it....

I've just finished lvling my warr to 70 exclusivly to PvP.
I was DW fury the whole way and have just specced to arms. Using sword spec atm until i can afford a PvP mace.

The most challenging thing for me atm is getting all my keybinds down. My brain is hardwired to zerk mode with the occasional stance change for charge or thunderclap.
Now I've got to get used to 101 new arms talents and setup my keybindings for them and remember which stance can use which talents :P
Trying to keep all my stance specific talents on the actionbar and bind the universal ones, but i'm running out of buttons (I don't have the longest fingers :P) gonna have to look into setting up some "if in battle stance use thunderclap or if in zerker use WW" type macros and bind it to one key.

Also got my "equip shield & 1hander cast spell reflect" macro :D

How do you guys change stances? I've bound mine to my mouse wheel. up=arms click=def down=zerk. Took a little while to get used to it but loving it now.

Why not use a bar mod that automatically shifts depending on your stance?

Thats what I do for my Warrior, because otherwise I'd never have all the abilities and items I need readily available on my Bars for a Raid.

thing is for PvP I don't like clicking things. I want to be able to use talents quickly at a push of a button without having to move my cursor from one side of my massive screen (i wish) to another to click a talent just to find the ally scum is out of range, bubbled or feared me. (zerker rage ftw)
I've got my shouts on a side bar which i click though as it's only every 3min i need to refresh it, and bandages etc.

I can comfortably reach 1-5 on my action bars which change with my stance, which is why i try put all my stance specific talents there (eg. pummel, charge, WW) and bind the universal ones to static keys (eg. c = execute, shift+c = victory rush, q = cleave)

I'm sure i can find space for all of them by playing around with modifiers but it's remembering them all and re-training my muscle memory from fury pve keybinds to arms pvp that's getting to me. Give it a while though and I'm sure I'll get it down. :D

Bongos or Bartender should allow for on-the-fly barswitching based on stances. I know I used to use it on my druid. In bear form my bar1 would switch to another bar with bear abilities on, same for cat and caster, and by binding keys to bar buttons, "1" for example would Maul in bear and if I switched to cat, would Claw. Same concept should work for warrior stances.

I don't click anything
Every single ability I use it hotkey'd.

I use F1-F12 with certain spaced keys for specific "smashers" (e.g F5), 1-6 for main abilities, Q, V, T, E, G and H

the vanilla wow ui action bar switches with stance changes. so i don't need a addon for that (i use bartender anyway).
I don't have a problem binding things, it's the switching from fury to arms and becoming comfortable with the new setup thats my problem now :P
