Need to optimize the B315 for gaming.

Currently, even though my internet speed is good and my ping low, if another user on the network does something very basic (such as view an image on twitter) the network stream is maxed out for like a half a second. Loading a video on twitter will use 3-5MB/s choking the internet and causing major lag spikes for a bit rather than loading parts of the video at say 1MB/s.

Anyway I can prioritize gaming on my router?

What exactly is that and what does it do?
What other routers do you have available? Mikrotik is a Router brand, notoriously difficult to set up, but capable of doing the QoS you require.

What is your budget to implement QoS and how much do you know about networking?
I know enough about networking on the windows side, but not much on the router side. My budget is practically nothing, I was wondering if maybe custom firmware existed for this router?

Long answer short, no, there is no custom firmware for this router. For QoS you'll need another router, but that is very time consuming to set up and introduces Double NAT, which isn't fun to deal with. I'll need to log into my B315 to see if it has QoS, but if I remember correctly it doesn't have QoS.

Oh alright thanks

Can i do QoS using a normal adsl router(that supports qos) and a B315/B618 or will qos only work between an LTE router and a mikrotik, pi etc?
