NeoConnect pricing details

R1000 steep for 2.4mbps Broadband uncapped? - you gotta be kidding!

i'm paying R1300 for 384kbps uncapped (R999 for Openweb & the balance telkom)

eh? u willing to pay more (1300) for less speed? (384kbps) vs R1000 for 2.4mbps?

i'm not talking about the low end bracket, I'm talking about the R999 bracket sweetcakes!

Now that I do not appreciate (the sweetcakes reference). Try to be a little less condescending.

You said it was the cheapest broadband option, I pointed out that it wasn't. (I also pointed out that it might be the best value for money, as there is a huge difference between the two concepts). Try to keep in mind that not everyone has the same requirements as you.

So where did the "no internet during voice calls" story come from?

I remember reading it as well, but now they have said that voice goes over seperate spectrum, so that it could not be interfered with by data usage. Surely that means that you can do both simultaneously?

I hope there is a cap at some point on the 'unlimited' package which will stop those people who are calculating they can download 200GB+ a month from doing so. The very same people on this forum who bitch the loudest are those who, by downloading asmuchaspossible, ensure that the vast majority of users pay more for the services.

I have browsed through the thread but I still cannot find an answer as to the gaming speed? anybody know?

If you are looking at the 2.4Mbps line, it should be okay. I read Neotel's initial report and the latency is more or less the same as ADSL's latency. The 156kbps will be really really crap.

So we have a duo-nopoly now.
Um Neotel service offerings offer less at higher prices!
So where is the previous statement by Pandy that costs should be below a quarter than it currently is...
FACE IT! this country dont get better, only worse..

As a common Joe Blogs i see NOTHING to even interest me in those plan offerings at those prices.

These prices are f%$king ridiculous. Where the hell is the competition? This really frustrates me, again there is no TRUE competition. Neotel, you have proved to be another TELKOM!!!!

omg these are way cheaper then telkom ever hopes to get for R1000 you get so much lets get serious, these prices are much better then telkom its a nice change i think, dont expect somthing new to come and have the same prices as europe, some of you guys disgust me, i think these prices are frieken good and will be looking foward for some higher speeds,

Ok firstly, anyone that thinks this is Telkoms competition is an idiot.

This is not a dsl/adsl/broadband offering. This is wireless, so in that case the only competition for these prices, are people such as Vodacom and Iburst.

Wait for neotells broadband offerings.

totally. give it time and we will see what happens. baby steps.

And lets be honest...Neotel could have come in with way worse offerings. They have catered for the low end of the spectrum and the higher end. Sure the lower end of the spectrum aren't going to have massive savings of R100's a month. On the high end, with the uncapped solution, that's easily several hundred Rand in savings.

No, it's not. It might be the best value for money, but it's not the cheapest.

I can get adsl for R169 at cybersmart, plus the line rental of R120 = R289. And that's what most people will look at - how much it costs overall, not what the speed is or how many Gb are included.

Exactly. Why are so many people finding this so very hard to comprehend?

I love the 999 uncapped plus voice services, I just want to know if we can get good pings to local servers for gaming purposes??

Hmmm .... why are nearly all the pro Neotel all newbies? Could it one superfan using different nicks ..... nah, never

At least they seem to be listening to consumers...except on the pricing side.

I am tempted to sign up but I'll first wait for a few "real" users to post their feed back on the forum. I was a sentech early adopter..once bitten :)
