Neotel’s data centre plans

I moved into a new flat on saturday and there is a big ugly building blocking my beautiful view from the balcony.Now i find out its Neotel.The same company that does not provide me coverage and has a building 400m away!Damn u Neotel!My vodafone modem is aiming straight at you with a full signal!

I do not know about the mybb neotel advertising...

BUT I do actually find this news interesting and also somewhat important. So while some of you might want to flame neotel, you might want to think twice the day you actually want server hosting. This datacentre sounds at least somewhat promising, if they will be able to provide all of it.

The only downside to this datacentre seems that when you host there you will be contracted into only use neotel as your backend network and not allowed to use other backbone networks in SA like with certain other datacentrer in SA who will be neutral and allow you to use any network of choice. Especially since they claim that they will be the datacentre having the most power output per cabinet...
 
Is that what the monsterous new building being built in Samrand is for?

Wonder where in Diep River this is. I pass through there now every day on my way to work, and it would be interesting to see where this is. I haven't noticed any construction along my route.

hmmm nor have i.. wonder.

since they doing that. they came lay some fiber to my house, just 1or2km up the road.
i'll help them test the FTTH. heheh lol ;)

Yip I agree... I found this news article refreshing. Better than all the other crap about how a steep drop in telecommunications costs is imminent.
 
LOL... so much for green IT from Neotel..... light that sucker up! More Juice... more juice....need moooooooreeee juuuuuuice!!!!!!
 
I live 1-2km from Diep River and still have zero coverage according to the Neotel map.
