Neotel and Gaming

Neobroadband WiMax is not CDMA. It is WimAx that connects to a BaseStation which is connected to the Fibre Structure. The latency etc that you will achieve will be close to or even better than ADSL.
Download and Upload speeds are the same therefore ensuring quick speeds.

What Wimax is>>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WiMAX ( As you will read, it is an alternative to CDMA and used to deliver High speed /High Capacity connections)
Neotel WiMax >> http://neotel.co.za/wps/portal/!ut/...M2NjYxNDU_2CbEdFANpKfNY!/?WCM_GLOBAL_CONTEXT=

Hi Guys.
Just a slight correction on your statement, our CDMa sites also run backhaul on fibre, not just WiMax sites.

Neofail sucks on gaming. I'm trying to connect to servers tonight but I get such huge lag spikes that it's impossible to play. My average ping when joining european servers is 350+ with Neotel. When I connect with my 3G it drops to 250 which is playable. 350 is also half playable except if it spikes to 1000 every second about like tonight. Then you are basically warping the whole game through

I've tried playing PSP Fifa 10 online, you have to play close to midnight to get the best possible speed I think but even then you get cut off soon. I think the game itself is not being optimized anyway because the FIFA PSP is very unpopular so a similar bandwidth game on PS3 or XBOX might be better.

I think local could work with some stuttering but you're really better off with adsl logic tells me(not experience)
Sometimes the connection drops temporarily and by that time your game disconnects as you watch your game frozen for a few seconds.

Neotel is good for general purpose (browse, mobility and even youtube), for gaming you need to be close to the tower that is not overloaded I assume.

Stay away , u will spoil anny gaming experaince on Neotel. i'm a avid COD MW2 player and i was forced to quit due to Neofails lag spikes.

Rather just watch DSTV or something .... much better off.
