I play old games on my PC - like UT2004 and those things. PC is good for LAN also.

Consoles typically connect to SD TVs or if they connect to HD TV is it usually via an SD connection - so in the end you are stuck with a with resolutions that most onboard graphics chips can handle with ease. I have a old ATI motherboard with onboard X1200 GPU and it is fine for most games at 800x600.
So PCs are cheaper for games than consoles. Also, they offer much bigger flexibility because if you are serious about games you can add an GFX card that will cost more than any console - so with PC you are covered from dirt cheap to uber powerful.

The first N-Gage was a write-off.
These days N-Gage is built in on most N-series phones and most of the games rely on 3D graphics. Since most N-series phones do have 3D processors in them so it is kinda good. Check out www.n-gage.com

I checked the e-series phones also have a decent 3d processor (for a phone) wonder if it will be able to play ngage games aswell...hmm

Even with the start up cost. Comparing R600 a game to R350 a game and you quickly make that back.
Hell I bought the collectors edition of Fallout3 for cheaper than the standard console version.
That's besides the fact most people have a pc anyway. I mean you're posting from a pc. To go from work pc to game pc is cheap.
btw, You only need to upgrade every 3 years if you do it properly. Or buy midrange stuff do it every 2 years. Still cheaper by far.

Well maybe try hack it - it is afterall just a normal Symbian application that is able to launch the various games.
