Neotel NeoFlex vs Telkom DSL

but its still not cable in be it copper or fibre ?So how is it going to rate for gamers?
 
At least neotel seem to have heard some of our problems and are fixing them. Now all we need is that elusive unlimited package! I will drop iBurst so quickly as soon as that happens, but the 15GB package is very tempting... maybe they'll offer an upgrade option or else we'll have to go month-to-month. Neotel, you are saving me! But please... unlimited!
 
Such limited coverage at the mo barely deserves all the fanfare.
 
R600 for 15GB is R40 per GB. All in.

Sounds good to me.

And the ethernet option is for sure a win.

However, all being said and done, I want a 1/2/3 GB option for <R100 per month to supplement my DSL. Let Neotel prove themselves to me first.
 
All this talk about something that isn't here yet. It's crazy. When it finally gets released, they will just copy and paste this article again, and add some pricing.
 
this all fine and dandy but without coverage it's useless.
 
seriously? 140-170kbps?? I'm on a 4mb ADSL and nearly AWLAYS get 430kilobyte per sec downloads... Always
 
It's unlikely you're experiencing download speeds near 4Mbps (even at 4am on a Sunday morning).

Crap! I get 420KBps + (4Mbps) almost 80% of the time...

+1. If you read some of the topics in the neotel section then it seems they are already providing a sh1tty service....but without coverage we can't even experience that!:mad:

NO! It's wireless, latency will always be ****ty on wireless.
Come on okes, this is like a year in the making.
CDMA2000 is not going to give you good latency and pings, especially if you're a WoW "player"....
Excuse me if I seem a bit pissed off, but it's two fold;
that being that gamers are still moaning about latency from Neotel (it's getting old) and the fact that I'm pissed at this **** from Neotel and them missing out on dates...

Thanks again Neotel for keeping to your standards of not releasing info when you categorically stated you would.

has anybody else noticed on an 4mb uncapped line is uber fast for the first week of a month and then after that slows down dramatically? I find this very frustrating seeing the bucks I pull out for one of these
 
On my 4 mb adsl line never reached any thing faster than 140 kps i have tried neotel prime unlimited i was testing this a freinds house played wow on line uk server and went well for good 3 hours :):D so neotel wake up and get the coverage going ...

Rarely a day where I get anything under 400. Best thing I ever did was dump the wireless providers.

Then they should be crucified with advertising complaints. If it says unlimited is should surely be just that, unlimited.

Yeah whatever, games ? Go play solitaire or something. Wires are like bedpans - they are for old people and almost dead people who can't make love so they make warcraft.
 
You can not claim it to be "BETTER" - you have to look at it holistically.

Coverage is 50% of the deal (if not more) - so you can have nice new shiny router with no coverage = FAIL!

I phoned Telkom after 2:00pm yesterday to bump up my 384K to 4M , got home last night and it was done.

Sync at 4096 and quick speed test @ 3.560Mbps (445KBps) 18mS ping.....need I say more

oh yes 5.5Gig per month from a 3Gig account...

and no I dont work for them - I vakking hate the fact that this is where it's at atm.

Sorry NO-tel you gonna have to win me over BIG time...
