I see today , on the coverage map, that Centurion "seems" to have more coverage all of a sudden ... yesterday I could see the "clover" effect of the coverage map, and could pin-point where my tower is located ....today that whole area is red, so no more "clover" effect ... will test my connection again tonight, and see whether there is any improvement ... will post my test results ...

Has anyone maybe thought of submitting a letter to Carte Blanche??
I'm stil VERY new at Neotel, and don't have anything to write a letter about yet ... but maybe someone who had a few bad experiences with Neotel?
I would love to see the response of Neotel, when Carte Blanche rocks up at their doorstep, with questions about all the problems the customers are experiencing ...

I just had a neotel Tech at my house that run a couple of speed tests
They ranged between
Download : 400kbps-500kbps
Upload : 37kbps-50kbps
Signal seems fine and also only tested on 1 place in the house
Now If I could only predict the reliability

ok ..I had this little brainwave with my neoflex router ... disconnected the two antennas that's used to connect to the tower ....connected them to 2 coax cables (one antenna on each cable), took the cable through the ceiling, and mounted the two little antennas high up inside my roof .. WOALLA!
Antennas connected directly to router RSI = 73 - 74
Antennas mounted inside my roof RSI = 62 - 63
Speedtest with antennas on router:
download: 530kbps
upload: 310kbps
Speedtest with antennas mounted in the roof:
download: 1.4 -1.5 Mbps
upload: 450kbps
Yeeehaaa! .....wonder what will happen if I connect an Outdoor antenna ...hehee
Will keep on monitoring the speed though ....

Try only connecting the RxTx And covering up the other bit with some foil so it doesnt get anything... see what happens?

ok ..I'm still happy ...still getting not bad speeds at all, so relocating the small antenna to the inside of my roof payed off big time ...

If only I could get my axess router to STOP asking me for that %#$%$ RUIM !

Improved Latency and Upload, 1/3|1/2 Download
This Morning through to afternoon/evening latency had improved, upload had doubled, download was 1/3 of what it used to be. Right now latency is still good, upload slowed a little and download is now 1/2 of what it used to be. Not sure if that is similiar to what everyone else experienced?
I think our signals are being sent to our nearest tower which is nearing max capacity. Signal will either re-route our signal back to the existing station on a different cell or send it to another tower.
With the congestion I think we are experiencing a type of 'cell breathing' where the data being sent gets delayed or suspended.
What does Neotel need to do to fix this ?

Bad night in Centurion Zwartkop area
Man last night was a bad evening for Neotel in Zwartkop, Centurion ...
Max download speeds was at 2kBytes/sec.
I couldn't even open up the speedtest.net website ...
My signal was still going strong at 63 RSSI, so that was not the problem...
A question though ... I've noticed in the past(most of the time), that when I start to download something, my download speed would start out at around 5kB/sec, and then after about 30 seconds - 1minute, it will increase to maybe 80kB/sec ... that usually happens to all of my downloads ... not that I'm complaining, but I wonder why it does that? ...Vodacom 3G never did that ...
I'm still worried about last night though ... if the download speeds drop from 1.5Mbits down to maybe 300kbits, It will be bad, but it woun't have a personal impact on me .....but if the speed drops down to 20kbits, and even makes browsing impossible, then I get worried, cause soon my business will be based on "browsing the internet", and if that happens during the evening, I will loose LOTS of working hours
Guess I will have my Vodacom 3G on standby for evenings like yesterday ...

What Neotel product are you using?
I'm on the Lite Unlimited, wish they could have coverage of the Prime product
then I will switch to the Prime Unlimited 
Sharing Neotel Prime coonection
Can anyone tell me if I will be able to share the connection.
I am currently using a 3G connection and sharing it with Windows Internet sharing.
According to the Neotel lady I will not be able to do this with neotel lite or prime and will have to get neoflex for internet sharing and get an additional contract to have telephony services.
