Neotel network speed degradation update

Has anyone noticed that doing a speedtest to the JHB server on speedtest.net gives incredibly great speeds but any other server (including the Cape Town server) give a fraction of the speed received from the JHB server?

This is obviously some new definition of "incredibly great speeds" of which I'd been previously unaware. :-{

Still getting around the 100kbps mark.

When I say incredibly great, I refer to the huge difference between testing on the JHB vs other servers ;) granted my wording needs a rethink

Douglasdale speeds are down substantially from 2Mb/s to 0.13Mb/s. Seems tower 152 is down

Fix it FFS!

You get 2Mb/s? I want to get me some of that! We've been battling with terrrible speeds and serious lack of connectivity. They've agreed to cancel but will only do so at the end of the month. A trick to get us to stay perhaps?

Weltevredenpark to JHB server
Down 0.58Mb/s
Up 0.41Mb/s
Ping 196s

This one's actually pretty damn good. Not the norm.

What I want to know from the Neotel rep is why is the website completley geared towards selling? What about a site for your customers who have already coughed up money? Oh and drivers and manuals from the hardware supplier is not 'Support'. Your 'Support' section sucks big-time.

My 2Mb/s days are long gone but I'm happy with the 1Mb/s I'm getting now.

Thank you to all who have provided feedback, data logs and reports regarding the speed degradation issue.

Your information has helped us put together an action plan to improve performance on the network. This action plan requires changes to the network (potentially some downtime) to be carried out in the affected areas and as such will be performed on a weekend.

More details will be provided as to which areas will be affected and the date / time of the planned maintenance once they have been finalised.

Your feedback following the maintenance will be appreciated to ensure that performance has improved.

Neotel.

What am I missing here ? How can I provide feedback logs etc. for my connection ?

Just post speeds in this thread ?

GAH! SLOW TODAY!

Can;t even manage 30kB/s, on tower 320, 304, or 464.

What speeds you getting today dark denim?

mines not too bad considering i dont have my yagi connected. Dloading at 90kB/s - they def did something - was only getting 45 before.

So that planned internet connectivity lose the other night really f$$$ed everyone....WELL DONE AGAIN NEOTEL!!!

EDIT: okay maybe a little harsh but they've been going for ages now...surely someone can get it right from their side...it almost feels like we going back into the stone-age regarding internet!? Anyway enough moaning...When it does work i'm happy:P

Earlier today: 2.37mbps

Now: 0.89mbps

Oh and my RSSI with a YAGI today according to installers was 120+
They left with the YAGI naturally.

Inconsistent and confusing to say the least. Quite fed up with the lack of communication. A few posts by a rep here and there is hardly enough.

Better than what it usually is. Im still waiting for it to go back to 1800kb/s. Thats when I will say it is a great connection.

RSSI 63
PN: 304

Last Result:
Download Speed: 692 kbps (86.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 79 kbps (9.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

That was to neotel speedtest server. Watch how inconsistent this is. This is 2mins later
