This morning I got to the office and logged into my gmail account.
I see multiple emails from Netflix. Two emails for signing in (I know this wasn't me) , a second email for changing my password and the last one is a confirmation that I cancelled my subscription (Why would I do that?).

See attached images, I was in two different countries within a matter of minutes. Surely this should have been picked up by Netflix.

Sounds personal. Seriously doubt a hacker is going to cancel your subscription. Did you maybe netflix and chill with the wrong person?

Seriously though, I would check your machine for malware or reconsider your password definition? Maybe that someone knows your pattern.

Hahahaha.
I recently did a fresh install of Windows 10 on my PC and have not really used it so I doubt it could be malware. I found my email in a recent data breach but I use different passwords so there is no pattern.

I had the exact problem. No Malware or viruses on my pc, my email was part of a data breach a few years ago.
I woke up and saw my subscription was upgraded, password and email changed. Couldn't do anything because I didn't have the new password.
I solved it by calling netflix, the app has a voip calling feature. They were very helpful.

Possible some accounts got hacked. Netflix reset passwords and cancel accounts as a safety measure.

Wait for the News Report in 5 years which will confirm hack.

I see Netflix and especially Spotify seem to be regulars on the hacking/cracking telegram channels, 1000 accounts at a time on most occasions.

My accounts somehow been hacked, think there's a list floating around with emails and passwords. Changing password solved the issue and no other account outside of netflix are affected. They didn't cancel the sub though, just changed everything to Spanish!

Had a similar issue a few weeks ago trying out Netflix free 30 day, caught me quite off guard actually as I'm usually uber careful with passwds/security/etc...some shmuck decided to log into my account from somewhere on the net, luckily I was busy watching Netfliz at the time so quickly changed password and loggewd out and logged back in.

Never heard anything further...still...a bit unsettling. I wonder if Netflix's app is secure enough?

Have you check the email details and url details of the link to see if it is actually from Netflix? It is common for phishing attacks to send out emails like this, then include a link to "visit my account" or "click here if error".

most likely the account is not hacked but the sender is phishing of usernames and passwords linked to you via your gmail account.

In my case, It wasn't phishing. When I got the emails, I went directly to the app and couldn't log in.
The emails were sent around 3 in the morning.

I just verified. All links in the mail point to the netflix domain and are all 100% netflix links.

Similar scenario happened to me.
My Son comes to my room to ask who is "tommy".
I say "I don't know a tommy, Why?"
He says, "Tommy has a profile on Netflix!" LOL
I immediately logged in, changed password and informed Netflix of the breach.

I've seen this Goosebumps story before. Tommy's the neighbor's creepy doll.

Cancelling or upgrading subscriptions ... changing the language and even creating profiles : this guy means business !
