Netflix could destroy DStv - MultiChoice

Its time for Multichoice to stop showing repeats 1000x, crappy channels enforced on you just to watch some sports at a ludicrous high monthly premium.
Well, I have stopped my dstv subs 2 years ago and enjoy Netflix.
As far as I am concerned dstv no longer exists.

They don't want to adjust, their business model as it will mean a drop in profits, and they will have to start working for a change, instead of just going into work, drinking a cup of tea, going to a meeting or two, and then heading of to the golf course for the rest of the day.

It's funny to me that DSTV whines about this:

If 3/4 of DSTV subscribers already watched some form of TV on other devices, and they didn't pivot to OTT fast enough to catch up to the competition, then that's their own fault.

HBO Now and Peacock aren't even supported here. YouTube? On what planet is YouTube an existential threat to DSTV?

DSTV is going to moan constantly and we will read the same articles about it as a consequence. Same as 2020, same as 2019, same as 2018. Same, same, same.

And they have done nothing besides launching a "streaming" service at the same price as you would pay with a physical decoder. The economics behind that doesn't match up...no device to subsidize = lower price.
Hell, I gave my wife my 32GB iPhone SE to replace her 16GB SE, and she opted not to take a phone this upgrade. Mtn dropped her contract from R350 to something like R120.

THIS is what DSTV don't understand. They'd have signed up new Premium subscribers so quickly.
 
Didn’t Multichoice recently renovate their offices in Randburg? Looking forward to some cheap office space. Great location! :ROFL:

I think they are meaning YouTube TV. Which is another streaming pay channel with content from other providers such as Fox, HBO etc.

But.like you said for the others it is not supported here and is quite expensive. I looked at getting it but it's.like 44 dollars a month if I remember correctly.

Peacock is only $4.99 a month or $9.99 without adverts. NBC was far easier to sign up to but everything is moving over to Peacock now.
You just need to set up a US PayPal account and VPN to sign up to Peacock.
