I wonder how significant the drop in revenue for Netflix will be - would be interesting to see how much VPN users contribute.
At least we know that Netflix themselves aren't motivated to do this so hopefully they are just doing the bare minimum to please the movie studios. Also annoying in that the majority would go back to torrenting instead of paying a fee to watch these older movies and series so the studios are probably also losing out.
If they block you from their site, can you still cancel the service?
Netflix says they haven't changed anything with regards to how they handle VPN services. I think we good for now.
Sauce
and i have 3 days left of my Trial with UnoTelly![]()
Subscribe. Uno will work it out, a big part of their business is dependant on that
hmmm.....perhaps
I just think that Netflix as a whole will have more say with it's following than UnoTelly that offers the same service that hundreds of others do....
I reckon Sign up with Netflix, but keep using trial versions of the DNS services![]()
Just as I was about to ditch DSTV...
if this does happen it will be really cr@p
We were paying over R6oo bux a month to watch what we were 'told' is on the schedule so sorry for you this is what is on tonight, hundreds of annoying adverts during shows and not to mention the repeats of repeats of repeats....of the same old series and movies
and for a 1/4 of the price were welcomed with CHOICE and no adverts....NETFLIX!!![]()
Isn't it amazing, the movie studios tell big business what to do.
Kinda stupid off them and the studios. At least this way people are still paying to watch their product. All this will do is increase piracy.
This is denied by Netflix according to this article: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/jan/05/netflix-denies-crackdown-on-vpn-users
They are not just randomly telling Netflix what to do. They have agreements in place with various distributors including content providers in countries that do not support Netflix. When they signed up Netflix to distribute their content I'm sure there was a clause that said the content may only be distributed Netflix's regions. Netflix don't seem to have spent too much effort enforcing this though which is why other non-Netflix distributors are up in arms and putting pressure on the studios to in turn to put pressure Netflix to enforce this.
Hopefully one day we will see a Netflix available in every country with everyone having access to all the same content. But, then again that in itself starts bringing up images of Google-like world domination :erm:
