Trying to register on Netflix to try out the free month and so on, but it keeps throwing out an error "Sorry, we are unable to complete the signup process now. Please try again later."

New account, using DNS to access the US site and so on. Anything I might be missing?

Probably a problem with it accepting your credit card details / address . Sometimes it doesn't work because it cannot authenticate the credit card address.

The easiest way is to change your DNS settings to a UK server , register for a netflix account and then change your DNS back to US.
If you do using this method you can easily use your SA paypal / credit card

Not even reaching that stage. It fails at the point where you first create the account by entering your email and a password, and has been doing so for a few days (checked once a day). Thought it might be something on their side considering hulu runs fine etc etc.

Paypal gives the location error. However FNB cards seem to work fine.

I had an issue with Standard Bank credit card a few months ago. What worked for me is when specifying your billing address, use a US address that "matches" your postal code on your credit card statement to a US 5 digit zip code. So if your SA postal code is 6543, find any US 5 digit zipcode *6543 and then use an address from that zip code.

Not able to even reach the point of actual registering as I cannot proceed past the email signup for basic account creation.

A thought, can Netflix get your location from google? ie using an SA registered email results in being blocked?

If you used PayPal to try and register the first time and assuming that you have an SA PayPal account then your email address has been blacklisted. You need to use a different email address and then try with an SA credit card (not sure about debit cards). One final trick to use if your bank details don't take is to find a US postal code that ENDS with the same four digits as your SA postal code as reflected on your credit card statement.

This is my first time registering, never used any paypal or credit card before etc.

Anyway, managed to bypass it via the Playstation App somehow. Able to sign in via pc as well with the same info that was previously rejected by the browser signup.

I used a gmail account as my signup adress and changed the DNS settings in my Network settings on my Network card as well as my 3G connection - it does not let me get to the option where I have to put a home adress or credit card details

Im going to try a different browser as I know our internet options are locked down to route our traffic (im doing this on my work laptop as a test lol) i'll give results in a bit

Please do. I remember I also had issues but then realised my DNS wasn't updating on my PC. Once I sorted that it worked. I just can't remember the sign-up process though. That is the reason I asked about the card :D

it's a no show :(

I am going to have to wait until i get home where I can change it on my router,
I think we have some hectic firewalls n ***** going here

My wife's work Laptop (Company issue) does the same thing. Some or another HP. I changed the DNS on it for the home connection but it just doesn't work. No idea why.

Joys of group policies preventing users from messing up work laptops and expecting the poor standby IT guy to fix it.
