Netflix's plan to stop password sharing

Netflix has detailed a new device verification approach that could dissuade users from sharing their password with people outside their main household.

Although the company's user policy bars customers from sharing their login details with people outside their household, the practice has become commonplace.
 
That actually seems fair - they won't be blocking and having to verify once a month is not the end of the world.

Will also help those people that don't know their account is being shared.
 
Netflix and television entertainment in general makes you dumb and wastes your time. I'd rather plant veggies and do a bit of online work rather than watching TV.

Have you seen how a child behaves if you switch off their Netflix or TV? This is because it creates instant gratification in people, and they throw tantrums if they can't get it.
 
I've got no issue with paying more for a family-type plan. It's worth it.

R50 says the decriminalisation of psilocybin mushrooms will lead to the biggest shift away from consumerism and instant gratification.

Which is exactly why I think it is still criminalised.

LSD and Psilocybin were my go-to substances as a young adult. It changed many aspects of my outlook on life permanently. Agreed with you.

How did we get to taking drugs in your younger days within half an hour of this thread about Netflix explaining how they intend to stop password sharing going live?
 
I'm not a Netflix fan at all, don't subscribe any more since many years ago, but TBH, I don't see the big deal. They are making a mint already, and the more exposure they get, the more dopamine they can generate in viewers, the better for them. Bill Gate's secret to the success of Windows 3.x, and 95 was in part due to no copy protection.
