Hi

I have the Negear DGN2200Mv2TELKOM modem. I use it via a 20m LAN cable. I thought LAN Cable is 100mbps to the modem, but when I check, it says I have a 10mbps connection to the modem.

Is there any way of fixing this problem? I have a Dell XPS L502X and im sure its capable of 100mbps.

Thanks.

You could try cat6 lan cable but is it worth the trouble unless you are using more than 10 meg
I have the same router /modem connected to a gig switch and a micro server with assorted other connections, but i am sure i am only getting about 80 meg real world on the gig network .

Try a different cable, the one you are using is most likely wired incorrectly causing the laptop to auto negotiate the speed down to 10Mb
