Netgear router keeps resettting itself

My Netgear N300 router keeps on resetting my ADS. This is the 3rd time since 3PM today since I have had to put in my ADSL login details and change my SSID and password back to its original settings. My router also seems to randomly lose connection to the internet (the ADSL LED blinks and the internet LED goes off) randomly for 2 minutes and it gains connection for another 10-15 minutes and repeats this cycle. My DL Speed is also less than 1meg on a 8 meg line

I had the same issue, I think the ROM chip was buggered, I tossed it and got a TP link.

Check he PSU - should be 12v/1A.
I have replaced a lot of them over the years (and scored perfectly working routers that were chucked due to PSU issues)
