I am looking to run 2 ethernet cables from my router to two rooms in my house. Any ideas who I can get in touch with to provide me a quote.

ah yes that would help. location is johannesburg; rivonia area.

I have 80 meters of cable with me at home (in Sunninghill) which you can get at cost - R280 (not sure how much you need)?

Looking to do something similar myself, but I live in Witbank, I don't suppose anyone knows any numbers in that area? I had extra cable runs put in for network cables when the house was built, but now I need someone who can install patch panels or those little female adapter boxes. How easy is it to do it yourself, or do you need a special tool like the male ends need?

You can get the wall boxes and the krone tool (the push down tool) from esquire close to east rand mall.. Its a bit of a drive but hey..... The boxes are about R10 each and the tool is about R50.
Its easy to install, the boxes are colour coded inside...

Thanks, I didnt realise the tool was so cheap - I know the crimping thing is a couple of hundred bucks, which is a little steep for 3 or 4 cables. You dont happen to know anywhere in Pretoria, since I'm there pretty much every weekend. I'm not so worried about the actual work - I've crimped and patched cables before, but it was part of a practica and we used the university's tools.

Where in PTA do you come to? You could get the tool, wallboxes and cables from Miro, but they're in Samrand. The crimp tool will probably cost about R180 - R250, and you can also get it from many Matrix Warehouse / Computer Corporations.
