I got this problem and think [hope] it is software related.

I connect with a normal lan cable via a router.
But as soon as that lan cable goes via a bridge, my laptop does not see my connection. I plug it into another computer and it works, only my laptop got this problem.
I tried different cables, connection points.
I am sure its some software problem on my laptop.

Still on win xp.
Can anyone give me some advise please.

What do you mean by "goes via a bridge"?

You mean if you use your laptop to dial a PPPoE connection instead of using the router?

I got this brigde thing.
Connect any port to the lan cable, and then rest of the ports to other computers.

They normally have 8 ports. So you spilt the lan point, so more computers can connect to the same point.

So as said before, other computers with the same specs, work [connects] via this brigde, but mine not.
It use to. I cannot remember if I install or change something on the computer.

Spoke to a it engineer. He said the brigde is also called a hub.
He told me to delete the lan port on computer, restart and try again.

Can only test this on teusday.

Ah, you mean a network switch.

The switch shouldn't make any difference, what brand and model is it?
