Network topology question

The problem going this way (which is the way I had it originally), is I lose the meshing. I couldn't get the AX3 to mesh with the B618, only the ws5200 picks up the b618.

100mbps isn't really an option. We're throwing around pretty big raw video files to the file server.

Well you have a physical cable so you don’t need the mesh surely?

You weren’t running wireless on the LTE Router in the first place with the current config surely, so shouldn’t really change much.

I have a cable from the loft to the AX3, and then a mesh network for the offices downstairs. With the LTE in the loft, that router (B618) doesn't need to be part of the mesh but for the AX3 to serve as primary router for the mesh it needs to have internet access on the WAN port. And thus my current conundrum.

Options I've tried:
- LTE to AX3 on LAN input -> AX3 doesn't register valid internet connection.
- LTE to AX3 on WAN input (current config) -> seems to work but possible double NAT issues.

Aah so you are finally seeing the weird ****ery I was having with the AX3 when you go outside of the defaults.

I wonder what would happen if you put a switch next to the AX3 (main) and then ran a cable between it and the loft switch (so you only need one).

And then plugged the WAN port into it as well as a LAN port and did the same on the other side with a cable to the LTE and one to the server.

In my brain it makes sense that it should work, especially with static entries for the WAN like you had before, but I don’t trust it enough to say go buy one.

Try disabling the firewall on the WAN and see if the server gets its IP via DHCP reservation.
