I usually play Dungeons and Dragons Online so Neverwinter's character creation, customization and combat just felt very boring and limited.

So, are we still playing this?

I'm putting in a few hours over the weekend. I'm a level 60 DC. I have T1 epic gear and have bought half of the T2 PvP gear from Gauntlgrym grinding.

I must say though, the dungeons are murderous life wasters. I've put up to 2-hours into a dungeon only to quit. I've only successfully completed Cragmire Crypts, Cloak Tower, Throne of Idris, Grey Wolf Den and the Dread Vault (the only T2 I've managed to complete). Haven't even tried the rest of the T2s.

Grey Wolf we only completed due to the unintentional exploit of a glitch during the final boss fight. When accessing the final boss' chamber you have to pass through a gate. During the fight the gate is open but a ''forcefield'' stops you from passing through it and getting back to the campfire (respawn point). After repeated wipes, one of the players ran back to the gate as I wanted to see if I could heal him through the"forcefield" (I had already died and was back at the campfire). It didn't work and he died BUT, as he died the ''forcefield'' went down and the Boss passed through the gate before it closed. The gate closed and now the boss was trapped in the campfire/respawn area. So, we managed to beat him purely because we could die, immediately respawn and carry on attacking him while he no longer had his health regenerated.

I'm contemplating rolling a GF when I'm done with exams, but apparently they are a dying breed as most groups don't have a need for them. From what I'm reading if you can get 2/3 CWs in a group you've already won.

I haven't had time to play for the last week. It's the first online RPG that I've really played, so my opinion might be taken with a bit of salt.

I can't see how a group with T1 gear can complete any T2 dungeon without exploits. My TR is now 11.8 GS, with a stone, and I still won't go into T2 dungeons unless with my guild, which means mostly 12k GS players. For CN you basically need either 2 DCs, 2 CW and 1 TR, or 1 DC, 3 CW and a TR (just to run, actually). So in my opinion the game is facing a few balancing issues.

Most T2s are easy with a well-geared group, but most people prefer to then farm either CN or MC, so unless you're in an active PvE guild you're going to struggle to complete any T2. It's actually easier for me to do CN at the moment, as the main players in my guild are farming it like crazy.

BTW - I buy/sell keys for an income. For some reason people actually buy them from me, when they can get them cheaper in the ZEN store (after a quick AD/ZEN transaction). I've already made a couple mil AD that way.

I downloaded the launcher quite some time ago, never got to download the game completely, so haven't gotten to play it yet. Though I doubt anything could pull me away from WoW.

I do understand that Neverwinter and Path to Exile are not exactly the same type of rpg, but because both are online, I would like to hear from guys that have played both, which one would you recommend. I'm looking to start playing one and want to know which would be the better choice.

LOL @ my own last comment in here. What a noob I was.

My DC is up to 12.6k Gear Score, best in slot High Prophet armour set & normal Vorpal (will be replaced with a Plague Fire). I will finish my Dread Ring boons today. The only thing I need is the Ancient weapon set from Castle Never. I also need to respec my DC as I chose a broken Dread boon.

I rolled that GF I mentioned. 16.8k GS, Conqueror specced, full Timeless Hero, so oodles of power. But sadly only my friends will run the tougher dungeons with me. I won't get into Temple of the Spider of Castle Never because people prefer the currently OP GWFs that do as much damage as a CW and can take as much damage as a GF.

I tried over my end of year leave, was fun... lasted only two weeks though... it has a better storyline but at the end of the day it still boils down to collect 4 of this, kill 5 of that, etc. etc. etc. that and pay for any decent item...

Yes, leveling gets old fast, but once you reach 60 then the fun, and at times frustration, starts.

You don't have to pay. It is slower progress, but you need not pay. There is really only one thing I would recommend paying for and that is a companion stone that boosts your stats, but its price has been reduced by 40% and over December I purchased it on sale with a 60% discount.

Necro time, seeing as the Warlock arrives in a week with the release of Mod 4. :p

Anyone still playing this?

The game has gone a little crazy over the past few months. Two exploits have been fixed recently, one of which may be responsible for the poor state of the in-game economy. Inflation has gone through the roof and there is a serious backlog in the currency exchange. The most recent exploit fix points to players being able to ''print'' Astral Diamonds and thus flood the game with AD and devalue it, driving the price on everything up. New players and those unaware of the exploit were left at a severe disadvantage as the price of items needed to move beyond ''just good enough'' became prohibitively expensive.

Mod 4 also sees some serious class balancing along with the introduction of the Scourge Warlock. The much-malinged and resident red-headed stepchild - the Guardian Fighter - has received a plethora of buffs to improve its DPS and team utility. The current gods of PVE, the Great Weapon Fighter and Control Wizard, will also be heavily reworked, eroding their tankiness, damage and control. The latter two classes as they currently are turned the game into a 2 - 3 class zergfest, as taking 2-3 CWs, 1-2 GWFs and 0-1 DCs (healer/buffer/debuffer) would see you annihilate all dungeons in 15 - 30 minutes.

I play from time to time. I don't actually know why I don't have a character at level cap yet. I love the game.

The new Scourge Warlock is awesome. I've only played the intro so far, but its DPS is insane.

Yeah, one Warlock path does insane damage the other can out heal a Devoted Cleric.

Devs tweeted yesterday that around the 20-something of this month heavy reworks to the Trickster Rogue and Devoted Cleric will hit the preview server.

The changes to the Guardin Fighter were really good. I'm really enjoying playing it in PVE and PVP.
