New ADSL data packages launched

I once loved this ISP....but now I'll never go back....too much dishonesty...

I think they have screwed themselves over, doubt many will take them up on this offer.

Basically the same packages as that flow ISP but with better pricing.

If the accounts are truly unshaped, this is a better value proposition than the other IS resellers, who are now actively shaping capped accounts. Unfortunately you can't trust any local ISP these days, and accounts that start off unshaped don't stay that way. After all the Openweb drama on the forums of late I'd also be wary of signing up with them unfortunately.

“There has been a shift in the market from uncapped to capped data over the last few months,” said Openweb founder Keoma Wright.

Somehow I don't believe that^, but nice pricing though.

Not a fan of "daytime" data and "afterhours" data packages.

+1

Damn I wish the internet would just work in this country and none of this "spanner to internet" work-around's we are constantly subjected to.:(

How so? I was planning to switch to them anyways this week, before this announcement was made?

Trust me, when it comes to uncapped accounts, avoid them at all costs. Their practices are highly sketchy and many people have burned their hands before. Read their feedback thread.

The night time data is extra data for free as off peak data costs the network much less than peak time time data. So in other words the price would be the same even if they removed the off peak data.

I think it's awesome getting extra value for almost almost free. It's more than easy enough to schedule steam and other downloads for off peak times.

I don't know why these ISP's bother to advertise as unshaped. According to Openweb T&C's:
4.10 OpenISP will be entitled to suspend the service if, during the user’s use of the service, the OpenISP network is or potentially may be endangered, harmed and/ or impeded. Where possible, OpenISP will notify the user prior to such a suspension. This includes the use of ‘electronic measures’ in the form of bandwidth ‘shaping’ that ensures that the OpenISP network is not compromised or over burdened by abuse as defined in Section 5.3 and 5.4 of these ‘terms’. Protocols include but are not limited to P2P, torrent and NNTP traffic.

And that goes for almost all ISP's. Most will have a similar clause which invalidates the "unshaped" advertising. Probably a result of overselling their network.

This. And yet I've got Afriman over in the AH Capped Acc Thread arguing with me, telling me it's unshaped 'as he understands it'. What a joke.
