New Apple iPad, great for some

Shame, Jobs is really looking like he has a slow puncture...

For me... all I want is something easy to read off... and if the iPad is almost as readable as e-ink, it trumps that piece of firewood for that price.

except it doesn't have a camera... and doesn't do flash... and it doesn't have an sd slot.
okay, there's ways around this, but perhaps this 'solution' is not as all-encompassing as you would assume.

@peterch and @mmsimanga have good points. often the user doesn't care about specs if they can happily exist in a proprietary world.
but i'd like to think that slowly but surely the consumer is starting to understand the value of non-restrictive systems.
i'm not sure this will happen in our lifetimes though.
 
Can you install a touch version of Windows on the iPad? Or atleast run them in a bootcamp type environment? I like the idea of a tablet PC but I don't like the current restriction set (no multitasking/drm etc) of the software. If only that Gigabyte touchscreen netbook was a bit more powerful and had a capacitive screen.

It's not running on an x86 chip, so you would need something like Android. I'm guessing that someone will probably 'jailbreak' it somehow.
