Yip – great timing my side as well, since we're looking at upgrading the old TV in the main bedroom. Was toying with getting a ROKU or something along those lines, since didn't feel overly convinced that hacking the old ATV2 (to try and get Plex running) was going to be worth it – since 720p on the 2nd Gen might actually be noticeable with a new TV...

Since I'm running plex over on the Mac Mini in the lounge – hooking the ATV4 up to the new TV, and then (eventually) running Plex as a native app, will make a huge difference – and allow me to still hook into iTunes/Photos etc. without far less effort...

Going to be largely decided by how they roll it out, and by when... Wonder if Showmax will jump in as well – seem to vaguely recall reading something to that effect...

When it does arrive wonder what price we'll be looking at with our dodgy exchange rate.

It just makes sense that Atv opens up for more options on a media center than Itunes.

If they do open it up per say, I think they going to make a killing.

Having a household full of apple items I will certainly purchase one.

Plex on a Raspberry Pi2 is a beautiful thing :)

Iv tried DroidTV, Pi and WD TV, they all worked fine but never 100%.
DroidTV took time to start and I was back and forth between android and linux.
Pi was slow and sluggish when playing a 45gb BD rip.
WD TV has terrible interface.

If you have other Android devices then the above solutions are fine.

Iv gotten rid of my Droid devices and stuck with Apple, played around with a friends Apple TV 3 and everything just worked, thats all I want for everything to work 100% of the time.
Airplay is a major item for me, something i often have the need for, unfortunately Droids couldn't give it to me.

I have a WD MyCloud which I'm hoping will receive the Plex treatment on 21st September with new firmware so an new apple TV with plex app and MyCloud, done and dusted.
