Hi,
Building for a friend...

Doesn't anything hardcore, but also not something lowspec.

Excluding the GPU, on board should be sufficient for now

Not entirely sure about the board and the PSU, anyone would recommend something different?
Or any other component replacement worth mentioning.

There is no onboard graphics card for that Ryzen chip.
There hasn't been onboard graphics for years, the CPU normally has it. But AMD only put GPUs on APUs which will end in a G at the end.

I would replace the SSD with a NVMe. :)

Will add the GPU later, think he can do without it for now

You're not quite getting it. He'll just have a really big paper weight with that build, as there will be nothing to output to the display.
There is no graphics card, there is no onboard graphics, therefore it will do nothing.

I'd go 5600 rather than 3600.

That motherboard is fine but I'd get a PSU from someone like Corsair.

And a graphics card, so it can actually output to something

This setup of yours makes me think of those Ryzen mini PC's on Amazon eg.: https://www.amazon.com/Radeon-Graph...eywords=ryzen+5+mini+pc&qid=1621169349&sr=8-3

For your price, and from local vendor, you can also maybe look at a Nuc (AMD APU's is not freely available in SA) : https://www.evetech.co.za/intel-nuc...th-512gb-ssd-and-32gb-ram/best-deal/8576.aspx

Maybe I don't get it...

I current have a Ryzen 5 2400 - B450M - 16 GB... No GPU...
It has been working for the last 3 years, children use it for games, school, etc.

This is not much different from the new build... Why would it not output anything?

Maybe you have the 2400G??

You have a 2400G which is one of the models that has onboard graphics, as per my first message.
Any Ryzen ending on a G is an APU with built in Graphics, no G no graphics and the 3600 doesn't have one.

Yes, just checked now, only G and GE's variants in the 2400 series
Possibly G yes.

Anyway, OP. Just trust everyone on this. We're not bullshitting you. We're not trying to screw you over. The default for AMD Ryzen CPUs is to not have an integrated GPU. You specifically need one with a G at the end of the model number if you want integrated graphics. Good luck finding any sort of stock though.
