New Cell C data prices

CellC caused a big downward shift in prices so we should be greatful to them.

With my inertia I'll probably just pay a bit more.

The signal is decent in built up areas. But in more remote areas CellC coverage is crap.

I haven't compared lately. But I reckon CellC is still a good offering.

The SPAM/SCAMs they send out regularly sucks though. They try to get you to gamble R10 for a chance in hell to win R1 million, ignore unsubscribe requests (STOP smses) and complaints.
SPAM filtering their SMS's works quite well though.
"win with CellC" > SPAM
"CellC would like to offer" > SPAM
etc
 
I'm a bit confused...

Data Bundles: 3GB = R299 = R0.10 in-bundle rate
Smartdata prepaid 3GB = R299 = R0.08 in-bundle rate

What am I missing here? Even if you take 3GB as 3072MB, that's still 9.73c per MB, not 8c per MB.

It does look that way initially - for Smartdata Prepaid, 1.2GB (100MB pm x 12) is R89 and 2.4GB (200MB pm x 12) is R79, but if you read the fineprint on their website, that R79 is a promotional offer valid until January 31 2015. I presume it goes back to the normal R189 on 1 Feb. The mybroadband article omitted that little detail.
 
Ugh, sucks. I really don't want to see CellC go under - enjoyed the competition that they provided (and it was for the better of the industry). But this is really not a good move.

I'll probably stay with them on my month-to-month Vitality Mobile contract for voice calls between my me, my wife and her mom, but will get data from somebody else.
 
Can't find anything about prepaid voice prices.

At the moment I am on the 66 cent scheme, what happens to that ?
