New Cell C data prices

Well, they are definitely succeeding in creating even more confusion on their data offerings. This is just a mixed bag of increases and decreases but ultimately what I take from just a quick glance is that the price drops seems to be more on their contracts. Good job CellC, let the lower level data users be subsidised by the higher level data users and then at the same time try to hook everyone into a contract of some sort. ;)

No more 100MB for R15? That's probably the end of my month-to-month Straight Up contract then. The slow data speeds and the total unavailability of data in parts of PE has been irking me for a while now already.

Well...it was fun while it lasted...time to port...plus cellc's network here in Birch Acres is almost nonexistent and doesn't seem like cellc is bothered to fix it anyway...

“The review is part of our commitment to improve transparency and simplicity, while maximising the value our customers receive on our products,” Cell C said.

... You confused the term maximizing and minimizing OR customers with stakeholders.

At least that is how I perceive this move. My basket of goods will now cost more. Expect less usage from my side CellC.

Geez, I foolishly looked at the headline and expected to open the article and see some exciting new LOWER prices. Seems like commercial suicide to be increasing prices when the worldwide trend for mobile data prices is downwards.

Am I reading that right? No more 1 or 2 gig smart data contract deals?

What's up with the NiteData and GigaNite 1GB prices? R49 vs R12.50 for an hour shift in time?

And 200MB per month Smartdata is cheaper than 100MB?

One is valid for 30 days, the other for one night only.

I think the only reason that people put up with CellC's poor network was because the pricing was okay.

I've been procrastinating, but this is probably the motivation that I need to port away from CellC.
