*Scratches head and wonders what to do*
Streaming still no work on fibre but works on adsl. Fibre will stream for about 10 minutes before endless buffering.

You got a link for the stream you're watching? I'll try test it out on mine and see if it does the same. Im on the 200/200 package.

Ran it for 18min using openload and there was no buffering.

However, I have had issues with these free streaming sites on my line many times before where it buffers and just runs slow.

Thanks. I was also running it in the background. Although not buffering at about 15 minutes became jerky and impossible to watch. I know occasionally there are problems with the site itself but never with this consistency only on fibre.

I would suggest you download pingplotter (free version) and check for any packetloss before the third hop on the traceroute because that indicates a line fault or some other issue on your end.

Yeap or we can try with your PC directly into the CPE as something to try.

I tried pingplotter - no packetloss at all before the third hop. Would I get a connection if I connect directly into the CPE bypassing the router?

Can you post the pingplotter result? Would need to allocate you and additional IP so PM me your account name.

You need to do a tcpdump while doing a vumatel speed test and look how many retransmits/out of order packets there are.

PBCool - I did PM you my account details and the pingplotter result.
ponder - thanks I did try - did not work
Sinbad - thanks but tcpdump is a bit out of my league :)

Last night again streamed movie (no wifi involved) started endless buffering within a minute on fibre. Did a quick changeover to adsl and streamed faultlessly without even disconnecting from server during changeover.

Agreed there seems to be something very wrong when ADSL is able to get higher speeds internationally that Fiber... think this definitely needs to be checked out

This is not doing much for my stress level at this time of year. The only advantage my fast fibre line will give me is that I will be able to do super fast internet banking.... which is about the only local internet connection I ever use. I am getting really frustrated. Vumatel does not respond at all to e-mails. In fact according to them I do not have a service although I registered via the Vuma portal:
https://snag.gy/AbrjVU.jpg All my address info Tel No etc is correct on the portal......
"Resend e-mail" to confirm - does nothing - The only communication I have had from Vuma was two emails sent from Sweden! (When I first signed up) I also received an SMS to remind me to pay my R1710 installation fee.
The only humans I have seen from both Vumatel and Cool Ideas was two shady looking characters working as sub-contractors for Vumatel to install the CPE.
I do appreciate the response I have had from PBCool but this is getting a bit much now. I am going to log this entire thread as a "ticket" with Cool Ideas and see what happens.....

Download Wireshark. Install it on your PC.
start a sniff, do a vumatel speedtest from their portal, stop the sniff.
Select Analyze, then Expert Information
When it's done, post a screenshot.
