Hello,

I use Windows 8 Release Preview 64-Bit, and I have a Dell XPS L502X Notebook. I got 6gb ram, Nvidia GT 525M 1GB DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 3000, and an i7 2630QM processor.

I previously had the 304.79 Nvidia driver installed. I had no problems with it, running Need For Speed The Run. Now, I recently updated my driver to 306.23. I thought new drivers are suppose to bring better gaming performance, but this was not the case for me.

After installing this new driver, my Laptop crashes EVERY single time I try to play my Need For Speed online. If I can play this game online, I can only play 2 or 3 races before it crashing.

My BIOS is the latest BIOS Dell has available. I was thinking maybe the issue lies with the Intel HD Graphics 3000, I have not updated it in a while, and my laptop only allows Intel HD Graphics drivers from Dell.

I would like to know 2 things:

1) How do I solve this issue (if I can solve it).
2) How does one downgrade their driver to the previous driver?

All Help will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you SO much!!!!!!!

Sounds like nVidia screwed up something that was working again.

They are good at that, just ask Linus Torvalds. :)

Uninstall the new driver via control panel and reinstall the old driver.

Remove the Nvidia 3D Vision software as well. If that doesn't match the driver version, there will be problems. Some forums have recommended leaving it out completely because it causes issues with some games, can't remember which.
