New DSTV channels here soon

So we could get another 3 channels and loads more re-runs...................

Competition where are you ? Oh, I forgot their competition will be Telkom - enough said.
 
We loadshedded MTN years ago, and they will not get a RerunExtra.

Isn't it about time for National Geographic to make a documentary about the monkeys who run Corporate SA?
 
MNet Extra, which will be available on channel 103, will rerun shows over the weekend – on Saturday and Sunday from 2 pm to 11 pm - for those who may have missed its initial screening due to load shedding.

Assuming there is no load shedding on the weekend, else I think we need an Mnet Extra Extra channel for those that missed their programs due to load shedding on the weekend. :p:p
 
Honestly, they could have saved themselves the trouble. 3 pathetic channels is far less appealing than 1 that I'd actually watch.
 
For the sane people that don't spend their lives working to pay NoChoice money so that they can sit and watch re-runs, this is neither good nor bad news.

I pay R200 a year for Easyview, so I'll have 20% of a 1 new channel. Complain with your feet people.

why another nature channel. what about discovery channel medical or something. what about HBO, NASA TV, would gladly give up those 3 for HBO
 
LOL! Lesotho TV? How many Sesotho speaking clients do they have? They have more Indian and Portuguese customers. Why not add channels in Hindi/Portuguese rather?

No, they'd rather skin those people for an extra R150 or so a month on top of DSTV Premium not to mention its a much bigger customer base. And by the way those channels are broadcast at such pathetic bitrates, on an LCD TV its abysmal.

I've cancelled everything *since* getting a HD LCD TV and have EasyView. Rather buy/rent DVDs of shows/movies.
 
Our family only got DSTV with the PVR in January, and we've been loving it so far. However, I wish we could edit the channel list and remove the junk we will never watch, or the channels that can't be broadcast in SA. It just takes up space.

As for these 3 new channels, they don't catch my fancy. As said already, more and more reruns. There's enough of that already good grief.
 
Oh boy that means the compression ratio increases for the other already grossly over compressed signals to fit the undersized bandwidth NoChoice uses on the satellite.
Just own a LCD to see how bad things are becoming with their thoughtless compression.

Excellent advice. I cancelled DSTV in December and i've saved over R1200 in the last 3 months. I cannot believe I was paying so much to watch re-runs of the same junk. What a complete RIP OFF... do yourself a favour and cancel. Your life won't change that much!
 
DSTV does set the standard of suck. Yet another MNET channel that consists of repeats of all the other channels that are repeats of MNET.

Greetings subscribers! You will be THRILLED to learn that, due to future competition, we have INCREASED your payments! We have also added MORE REPEATS and some random nonsense we bought from the leading entertainment conglomerate that is LESOTHO!

Already planning on downgrading as it is. I insure my house contents and car for less than the DSTV subscription. Thats just crazy.
 
Unfortunately as much as they suck there are a couple of series that I couldn't do without .... not too mention the rugby coverage. Sucks but what else to do hey :(
