Don't they test these software upgrades before they put them live?

Seriously, how can they do this? My decoder has also been doing the re-boot, stuck, reboot thing whenever I go to certain channels. Try calling and all you get is engaged signal. Its back on now, but I'm too scared to chnge the channel in case it does it again.

And as for the arrangement of channels......some chops at the programming department need to catch a wake up. It's like trying to make sense of spaghetti. In the old days we used to be able to order the channels ourselves, now we have to get whatever they "dish" up, in whatever order they think makes sense.

Even previously blocked channels like Deukom are open, wonder how long?

Wow Deukom is unblocked? Always wondered what they showed late at night that warranted the 18 age restriction ;)

And even better still we could hide the ones we had no interest in.

They are just to lazy to filter out the hardcore stuff from the normal programs so they make everything 18.

Last time it took them like 3 months to notice that stuff is not blocked, so my fingers are crossed.

Coming Soon - Mnet Stars

M-Net Stars is a new channel with movies that are firm favourites or contemporary classics. Aimed at everyone and anyone who love movies, these are well known, feel good films.

Yippee. more reruns. 'firm favourites' my backside.
Coming Soon - MagicWorld

A variety channel packaged with programming covering local productions in the movies, sport and series genres. Available to DStv Compact and EasyView subscribers only.
Launches on 15 October 2007.
Mmm. I've got a dual view on full subscription, so bad luck there.

Coming Soon - One Gospel

One Gospel is a 24-hour music television channel showcasing gospel music from all over the African continent and the world, including studio-generated and live performances.
Launches on 04 November 2007.
Ja, just what I wanted - not. (although it may be interesting if they don't have all the clappy stuff...

Coming Soon - Style

The Style Network is savvy, sexy and stylish and it has everything the young female audience craves, with original series and specials featuring beauty, leisure, home, weddings and fashion.

Sadly, I'm not 'the young female audience', so not for me.

Coming Soon - Home Channel

The Home Channel brings you top international and local programming on décor, design, home improvement, property, gardening and lifestyle. Tune in for old favourites and brand-new TV talent.

More frikken repeats - 'old favourites' - phhht.

Coming Soon - Soweto TV

Soweto TV is a community television channel that is created for Sowetans. It is about Soweto every day, in every household.

Ja, just up my street - not!

Fortunately, I have a life...

Coming Soon - SET

SET is the ultimate destination for complete family-friendly entertainment, with a mix of programming that includes captivating dramas, witty comedies and gripping thrillers.
Launches on 03 November 2007.
I'll reserve judgement on this one until I see it.

Coming Soon - Trace

Trace reflects the exchange of cool, new, urban lifestyle and cultural influences for a global urban movement. The content spans trends in music sports, fashion and events of interest to urban communities.
Launches on 23 November 2007.
Considering I'm not part of 'a global urban movement' (urban=black), sadly another one bites the dust.

So, what have we got?

A moronic 'shuffle' that puts channels that I can't watch (not available in SA) among the pitiful lot that I can. One possible *new* channel (SET).

What a pathetic bunch of bankers.

Roll on competition.

Am I the only person who can't decipher any vague amount of COMMON SENSE in the layout of the new channel numbers?

If they got comedy central I would forgive them for this shuffle business

And why can't they bring back Sci-Fi!!!

PVR is working fine here - the channel grouping takes some getting used to but i guess it makes more sense now. Just going to take a while to get used to - no more channel hopping :)

How does it make more sense? Maybe if I could understand that then my brain would stop perceiving the switch as moronic.

Firstly none of the Time based recordings are working, they are all pointing to the wrong channels. (Easy to change though)

Secondly, why give us the Zim channel etc. that we can't watch (says wrong country)? Is this supposed to entice me into moving to a new country?
