I need a new one for my car, as I would like to use flash sticks to play my music, and my current Sony GTX-280 doesn't have a USB connection.

My budget is around R800.00 What would you recommend?

Hey thanks I would really appreciate the r100 discount. I'm happy to spend a little extra, but which one then to go for? Sony? Or pioneer?

Can you get an after market head unit that still uses the steering wheel audio controls?

Is Pioneer a good make, they've got some good specials at govan mani. Also what is jvc like?

AFAIK, you do, though i was told that I won't get one that will work with my Renaults' steering controls.

For me, the only reason to pick between the 3, is looks and price. Also, I find the sony to be the most difficult of the 3 to set up when adding amps and subs...

Are you saying it's a crap one? Or you just don't like the look of it?

I have had a red one for a while so I thought blue would be a nice change.

It was also a good price and had ALOT of features.

Looks, like I said in my prev post, when I have to decide between pioneer, jvc and sony, I look at the looks.

The SD card slot is nice, but I will never use it, as USB is easier to use. I also don't own an Ipod/Iphone, so don't care about that either. ;)
 
I got the Sony MEX-BT-3800U. Its expensive but was worth it - now I have bluetooth in my car. I did buy an external mic which I hear helps with the audio.

Very nice. I can't think of any situation I would need the bluetooth though.

Its actually surprisingly often that I get a phone call while I'm driving. Normally I would either not answer or sheepishly answer and hope I dont get caught. I dont use it every day, but whenever I need to use it, I'm very glad I have it.
